  1. The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is a frequent time for escorts to travel, so availability may be an issue.

Bodybuilders sometimes are limited in what they will do and at least one of your guys (JakeTylerVegas) has "ask me" for orientation and position. So I would further second your being clear about expectations.

My starting place with any provider is the question of whether they have a coherent identity---do the pics match what they say about themselves and what they seem likely to do. Newbies  often don't have a lot of pics but still---for example, tops should have a dick pic; bottoms should have an ass pic; if they do fetishes not all of them should be shown--there should be a state. Also, do they describe who they are and at least some of what they do--if it's all about "high class", etc. that doesn't help and guys who trade on some sort of social status often are just trying to justify a higher price.

  2. Been to New Orleans many times. Yes, it has a higher crime rate than most other cities (and has for decades) and you need to be more cautious, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun. New Orleans is that rare tourist trap-y place that's fun even though it's obviously a tourist trap and unlike most tourist traps, you can find very good food. You need to follow the usual guidelines for being in a city--be aware of surroundings, go out with other people, if you can. Canal Street has major hotels but it can seem desolate on a weeknight. The Monteleone is close to Canal, but at the beginning of the French Quarter, so it has a good compromise location.  There are other places worth seeing besides the French Quarter including the Warehouse District and the Garden District. There are numerous themed day or evening events throughout the year, that mostly target locals so you may find something that can draw you to one place or another.

  3. A number of years ago, when agencies still existed, I tracked turnover among their providers over the course of a couple years. One thing that stood out was almost half the new guys didn't last a month. Anecdotally, I've noticed that to be a constant over time and I avoid anyone new.  The couple times I did hire new guys, they seemed very disorganized (I may have been their 1st clients in both cases), asking for more time, pics, etc.) which frankly took away some of the desire on my part. So....if someone is truly new, I give them a pass. Let someone else train them up and if they stick around at least a month, I have some faith that they making a go of this. Younger guys (those under about 25) also tend to be less organized as business people--they forget the lube, don't understand how different kinds of cities work, etc. I'm glad I'm not usually drawn to twinks.

What's also clear is that if someone leaves the business, they often return, but frequently it's not for long. Again, I wait to see if they're committed to their comeback tour.

My guess is that many guys have an exit strategy--they plan to do this for a fixed length of time or until they build a nest egg or pay off a debt. A very small number truly make it a profession and many fairly long-term guys have something else going on---they may be writers, artists, students, etc.

  4. He had an RM escort ad on and off for awhile--the expired indicates that he started in 2017-----he started off as a regular escort and then switched to "cuddling".  He seemed to move his base between Chicago and Nashville. Many if not most of the pics on the masseur ad are several years old. The escort ad pics include some that are probably more recent than the massage ad.

So I saw him a few years back.  The experience was just meh.  Also got short changed on time.

But hey people can change over time, so I booked with him again (at his much higher rate).

If it lasted 30 mins I would be shocked.  I really was tempted to pay him half but that would have looked bad counting it

He offered a 4-hand with his (also HOT) partner.  SO glad I did not do that and waste more money

On the plus side - AMAZING body

Anyways, just wanted to give y'all the heads up.

    Is LatinROBERT the partner?

  6. Any experience with this provider who currently is in DC:

    RENTMEN.EU

Pornstar Performer & Rentboy in Washington, DC - Oliverhuntxxx: Latin with a twist

He has quite a bit of OF content, but advertises like an escort, although he only has a handful of reviews.

He seems to have a (?past) partner Holden Hunt has been discussed but not really reviewed and this included passing mention (but no experience) with Oliver:

We are cruel. We shouldn't be. He's beautiful

Not really. The OF convinced me that he’s probably a ravaged mess, which doesn’t bode well for a reliable, mutually enjoyable experience.

  8. Depends. Hagen makes a good point about expectations of different sorts of regulars and there probably also are guys who have unrealistic expectations of intimacy and friendship. Not every “regular” relationship will evolve in the same way. Guys who derive a lot of their income from travel may not see someone “often” but may see them on every visit or every few visits to their city, being a regular can be more elastic for them than for someone who rarely travels.

  9. Porn studios seem to be staying in business. They’ve been using social media to recruit people since the 2000s. Being in studio porn creates visibility and opportunities for collaborations. Escorts are still in business—more in many places than pre-COVID. As I mentioned upthread, it’s complicated and it’s dynamic. Customers will get more sophisticated about posting rates, quality and up selling. Very few guys can produce high quality vids over a long period. It requires skill and it helps to have collaborators behind the camera.

There is also a limit on how many “creators” OF can support. It’s subscription based. So the hot A++ can make a very grand income stream on OF (while they can). But how many fall into that category? They would have been porn stars in the pre-OF era and would have commanded a premium then. They will now. You’ll have a second category that wilL be OF & RM. They exist. Then there is the RM only crowd and also the SA only crowd. Not everyone wants to be a permanent OF porn star. Once you go there, your life will never be the same. Most don’t want that kind of exposure.

A good summary. The OF model seems to be evolving with more pay per video which, in the long run only works if they produce a regular stream of content. The typical OF claims weekly updates but often don’t even manage to do them monthly. My guess is that we’ll continue on 5he road of a small number of prolific OF a producers who do well and the laggards will come to be easier to spot and less lucrative for their creators.

Pornstars use OF as an adjunct to their career or a way to extend their ability to monetize it, much as they used to use escorting for this purpose. The non-OF pornstar escorts tend to be from the pre-OF area. Still, if OF becomes less lucrative then I think we may see more new pornstars escorting again.

I think the pricing volatility has a lot to do with COVID and the absence of an active market for a couple years. Things will settle down, but prices won’t be as low as they used to be.

    Thanks, mate!

I do wonder if it’s him, but the text “sounds” like him, you know what I mean? I’d break so many of my “rules” to engage this guy 😂

That isn’t Derek. When his RM was active he seemed on tour and probably doing collars as much or more than seeing escorting clients.
