Hello! Sorry for the random post please forgive me.... I am a provider from NYC. I'm very very good at what I do but im an amateur when it comes to advertising my services. I see other providers traveling from city to city and I would assume they have clients in each one. My plan is to go to LA in about a month and I will be there for a few days. 3/30-4/3 to be exact. Im from NYC so business is great here and I've met a lot of nice people... im just starting to hit a ceiling I feel like if I were to just stay solely here... I figured Id ask if anyone knows or can walk me through how providers originally start out when looking to build up in a new city. what would be the best way to go about advertising? Any and all help is much appreciated. Ideally, I would like to have 2 cities that I travel between on a monthly basis. Nyc and LA and then expand from there. Thank you

As it happens, I first hired in NYC in 2000. At that time, rates were generally shown on Rentboy (the predecessor to Rentmen) and $200 was the common rate. Amateurs/newbies and guys with full-time jobs often asked for less, such as $100-120.  Handsome guys with muscled bodies asked for more, about $250-300. I recall meeting in 2000-2002 a handsome young actor with a very good physique. He NEVER advertised but he had what he termed “a select group of discreet regulars”. His rate then was $300. 

Similarly in London,  the common rate was £100-120 ($200-220 then) in 2000. Amateurs et al charged £50-80 but gym-gods and porn-actors asked £150-200 (about $400). I met a guy in London who worked for BelAmi at that time and he asked for £150 (and was a very good date). 

And as regards an escort’s income, this may interest some. I had several dates in LA in 2005/2006 with a wannabe actor/model. He  was short but darkly handsome and beautifully muscled. He advertised with an asking rate of $350. Because we got on well together (and I’d take him out to dinner) he charged me $300. Interestingly he discussed his approach to escorting with me one night. He disclosed what his target income was each month. As soon as he hit that target, he took his advert offline and he didn’t answer his ‘work’ phone. The monthly income he wanted was $6000. Some months he achieved that within 10 days, generally it took him about 2-3 weeks, but he never ran his ad for the whole month.

Providers rarely check all my boxes, so I am a realist, but this is how I look at a profile.

On the one hand, the last two are the hardest.  On the other hand, I frequently see providers with 10+ reviews after only a couple of months.  If someone is listed for 5 years with 3 reviews, that is a red flag.  Likewise, if someone has 20 reviews in 6 months, that is a good sign.

After I make contact, I am looking for more than a one word answer and a rate that makes sense in the current market.  Rates that are too high or too low are indicative or no experience or a huge ego which is a turnoff for me personally.

Finally, I don't know why more providers don't create a simple website.  This is a great and inexpensive way to share a little more detail.  Here's an example of one I like:  https://www.meetmattanthony.com/

Got it will look into rentmasseur as well. Thank you for the input and thank you for explaining what a profile should look like in the eyes of a potential client. Really appreciate you taking the time to do that for me and will definitely make sure to include all the relevant information about my services in my profile. Love the idea of a website as well. Thats a smart move and definitely makes you stand out in a crowd for sure

i am already starting to develop that spider sense you are talking about when it comes to flakes or time wasters. Luckily for me I would say 90% of inquiries I get are serious one’s with a majority of those being eventual meetups. This is really one Of those situations where everyone I meet raves and is really happy but it is just a matter of getting in front of more eyeballs. Ive heard horror stories on providers either being not as advertised, chronically late, or just complete wastes of time and I want to do my part in changing that as best I can.

so I will jump right into this slight issue I am having. long story short... business has been slowing. I still have my regulars (which I am very happy about!) but as far as new inquiries are concerned, things have really dried up. I'm sure Covid has alot to do with that but I was looking to begin advertising on more sites anyways so this may just be the push I need. My question is..... I am only advertising as of now on thebestflex. I am not super familiar with other websites at this point in time. If you were me looking to get new clients and the most eyeballs seeing your ad what would be your next place to start advertising? where do you look for guys yourself ? rentmen?

P.S Everyone i've met with has really liked the service they have received so it's not me as cocky as that may sound ha. If I had to guess id say 50% have done at the minimum 1 repeat. I really do enjoy what I do, the people I meet, and do a good job for everyone I meet with. always discreet, on time, and hygienic of course. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
