Lesbian love scenes do nothing for me either, but that isn't surprising from a homosexual standpoint. I imagine a love scene featuring two males would be of no interest to lesbians.

Your response inspired me to do a little research. What I found surprised me and broadened my concept. The following links are to articles from the Daily Beast, PsyPost and the UK's Telegraph concerning females who watch male/male love scenes. The articles are short reads which report that male/male sex has a female following and also why some straight/lesbian females feel distanced while watching lesbian love scenes. It may be that the writers and producers of lesbian love scenes need to rethink their stagings and story lines to broaden their appeal to females.

First time I heard of it I was surprised, but now that I've heard several times about lesbians watching gay porn I understand it's not as unusual as I would have guessed. Wasn't there a movie with Annette Benning where a lesbian couple watched gay porn?

 

As far as enjoying girl-on-girl love scenes (not porn) I find they can be quite sensual, worthy scenes, and I'm gay as a goose, a gold star gay, queer as a $3 bill and so on. I still want to see Blue is the Warmest Color which I hear has a lot of sensual firepower.

For some reason, I just get uncomfortable watching lesbian love scenes, even in mainstream movies, e.g., Bound. I have also wondered why straight men are turned on by watching two women having sex while they cannot feel the same way about seeing two men do the same thing. I think that in the case of the women they always think that the women aren't really lesbian or that even if they are the men are such studs that they would be able to turn the women straight.

A friend hated "Chasing Amy" on those grounds: "it's what every straight guy thinks about lesbians, that they just haven't met the right man". For the record, I am indifferent to lesbian scenes; the girls in bed on Queer As Folk was always my cue to refresh my drink.
