So I was traveling and had scheduled an appointment with a escort. I had booked the appointment 2 weeks in advance--confirmed several days before and the morning of the appointment.

Then about an hour before the appointment he cancelled saying "he had thrown out his back and had to lay down"

Should I leave a negative review or not? It's a possibility that he really hurt is back--or that he just didn't feel up to it. I'm torn so I"d love to hear other's opinions

I would likely choose not to leave a negative review. It does depend on the facts and circumstances. Is it your first appointment with the provider? What was the tone of the conversation like?

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I known the provider well, have spent time with him before and he told me he likes to spend 30 minutes in the gym before every appointment to buff up a little. When he texted me to let me know that he hurt himself and needs to spend some quality time with an ice pack, I was disappointed but these things happen.

I probably wouldnt.

All things considered.... a cancellation is probably the "best of all the possible bad" outcomes.

Maybe he was telling the truth. Maybe not. At least he didnt "ghost."

Several years ago I tried several times to book an escort. Every time, he cancelled within a half hour of the appointment. The reasons given were always that some unforeseen emergency had arisen. After the third time, I posted an alert here, noting only that he had cancelled three times at late notice. I later learned he had also bailed out with others, and at the last minute. I also found out he had been let go by an agency he'd been with because he cancelled appointments on short notice. Since there seemed to be a pattern here, I posted to alert others who might book him and then have him cancel. Fair warning, I thought.

I wouldn't leave a negative review. First, as others have mentioned, he might actually have thrown out his back. Second, you many readers of said review would consider you to be a jerk for writing a negative review about someone who injured themselves.

I had to cancel my meeting with an escort 2 months ago literally 45 minutes before the meeting because of the flat tire. I was so pleasantly surprised at his response. It was so encouraging and positive that it put a smile on my face when I was on the shoulder of the freeway waiting for roadside assistance. Things and accident happened... I would not post a negative review in your situation.

How many reviews does he have and are they mostly positive?

You guys are using the term review and a forum post interchangeably. First, we cannot post reviews on the message forum. In the review section daddy will not publish a no show or late cancellation review or complaint. Most you can do is post in the message forum what happened.

Maybe the OP meant an RM review or on some other site. He never specifically said a review on Daddy's or in the forum.

RM won't take no-show reviews either.

I wouldn't. There's a difference between a no-show and a provider letting you know he can't make it after all. In this instance, take him at his word.

This.

Twice I've had to cancel on short notice as well, illness and family emergency. It's an occasional part of doing business on either end of the transaction. (Both guys were incredibly understanding. I rebooked with both. Both were awesome.)

My recent experiences have been cancellations at the last minute.

A massage therapist I have seen several times (and reviewed) cancelled on me 3 hours before my scheduled appointment because he suddenly forgot he had made brunch plans. He was running a special. Asked if I could reschedule for later that day (I was not able to). I had made my appointment with him 2 days prior. Didn't offer me the special on a future appointment. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Someone else who's no longer taking appointments, contacted me at the scheduled start time of my appointment with him saying he fell asleep by mistake. Asked if I could meet with him 3 hours later. I declined.

It happens. I used to be more lenient. Now I really don't give a f*ck. My time is just as valuable as theirs.

I think a cancel you should give him some slack. If you went through all of that effort to confirm and reconfirmed with a "No Show" ok leave a negative comment. His excuse may be legitimate here. There just isn't a way to know for certain.

Since you didn't meet, a negative review is not warranted. But if a 411 on him comes up here, I think it's fair to post the facts of your experience. Someone else may have had the same experience, and it would indicate a pattern of unreliability.
