I never said anything about not getting one, I merely said I don't DO them. I love my LG vx9800 (verizon's first cool phone), all the perks of a blackberry and such without the ugly design.

Meanwhile, no matter where my "ticketed" seat was .... I was there dear :)

Scott,

I hate having to lug around a PDA and a phone. Is this a reasonable alternative? What about the quality of the phone? I've heard that blackberry wasn't all that clear for phone communication.

Can you use it to sync up with Outlook calendar?

Any more details would be appreciated.

Well fear no more, search no further. You have found a great phone. It slices! It dices! It circumcizes, anesthitizes, and sterilizes every last aspect of your life.

But seriously, awesome phone. A bunch of the LA HooVille guys have seen mine around when I first got it. It's a super fun phone :)

Crystal clear quality and I have yet to have a dropped call. I even had twinges of signal inside the Kodak theater and definitely had service in the lobbies where most people had to go to the patios.

From what I've heard you've heard right :)

Imnot quite sure if there's a direct sync but I use a wonderful program called BitPim which is compatible with any and all phones. It acts as a control base for your phone. Get a USB or Bluetooth connection and it synchronizes your phonebook, calendar, and all phone downloads etc with your computer. There are easy import and export features in the program to utilize Outlook. Yes the program is free.

And to go a LITTLE bit further the program lets you take ANY MP3 and clip whatever portion you like to use as a ringtone and you just upload it to the phone. No problems, very basic. Never pay for ringtones again! You can even take whatever image you like and the program will crop it to the right size and auto import it into your picture gallery to use it as wallpaper.

Phone retails circa $550. With a Verizon 2 year upgrade/renewal you're paying about $300 - $350 for the phone. Worth every penny... LOVE it

ONLY downside is that it can be a tad bulky. By no means is it big but it's no razor. It's a flip and by flip I mean the flip is the long way instead of the short way. Opens up to a full keyboard and to "stereo" speakers around a larger screen.

Thanks for the info. Looks like what I want. But, I didn't want to shell out that kind of money without hearing from someone actually using it.

BTW, I've been with Verizon for years and have found them much more reliable than other companies I've been forced to use on the job.

Since this thread has veered so off topic, I thought I would lament that they killed Edgar last night. So sad as he was such a nice guy.

Pookie ... there's off topic tangents (since Dan brought up the evil blackberry) and there's just plain irrelevant :)

Lucky, I've overheard Bruce Villanch making pithy comments (about Palm Springs residents, oddly enough) but I've never dated him.

Please be a grown-up and walk away from this.

Oh hush. Not once did I say I was dating him. I've known him in a non-"working" capacity for almost six years now and have been doing assistant work for him since he finished his run in New York.

RE: OTyger LA traffic update!

Tell me about it! I spent two hours trying to get from Sante Monica to Le Brea to pick up my check at Channel 1 Releasing for the movie I made this week and there were guys out there every few blocks with traffis cones and such... not really sure of the maintainance ther but finally rerouted on Whilshire and that seemed to help some!
