I was also touched to see the cover girl this morning. He must have been someone special to be generate so much affection and at the same time so much hostility from people who either claim his friendship or claim to act on his behalf.

 

The fact is, he left us too soon, but he surely appeared to have lived a full life right up until the end. Some have said he had "issues" which contributed to an early exit. Perhaps, but still, his choices were HIS CHIOCES. Some say he had certain intentions with regards to his estate. Perhaps, but he chose not to do anything about those choices, so we are left to speculate. And there is plenty of that.

 

I applaud Daddy's selection of cover boy of the day. No more appropriate choice that this one.

While I never had the privelage of meeting hooboy, I have heard many wonderful stories and comments about him, and reading through all of this really made me see even more how wonderful a man he had to of been.

 

Someone who was able to touch so many people must truly be a person to admire and respect. I must say it is a goal in my life to perhaps be able to touch as many in a positive regard.

I remember the day he died and a particular picture that a friend has hanging on his wall came to my mind and it still does. The picture is a drawing of the cartoon characters that we all grew up with (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Woody Woodpecker, et al) all of them standing there observing the death of Mel Blanc ... the caption said "speechless"

 

I always thought that was very appropiate for me and this site upon Hooboys death.

I know that drawing well. One of my favorites! What the characters are actually looking at is a microphone with nobody behind it. It's a perfect tribute to Mel Blanc.

I woke up this morning to my normal routine, to see who is the Coverboy on the site. I was so pleased to see our own Greta Garbo who HOOBOY used as his moniker or avatar. It brought back old memories and was like going down memory lane just reading about what others had written and I am sure that if Daddy had put them all on here we would be out of bandwith. I was one of the luckier ones. I got to meet him in Person and have lunch with him in Houston, courtesy of Vegas Boy Dave. I also talked to him on the phone for several hours when he was in London. I know what impact he had on my life and I see the impact he has had on others. The beauty of it is he touched us and made us a better person.GOD BLESS HOOBOY as we remember you today.
