Brad Pitt wants a gay movie role.

The Hollywood heartthrob has been impressed with the success of gay cowboy movie 'Brokeback Mountain' and wants to find a script which will portray the ultimate gay love story.

An insider said: "Brad has asked his people to find him a script to play a gay man. He wants it to be a story that appeals to both men and women and he wants it to be the edgiest work he's done."

The E channel tonight did a show on the sexiest 100 celebrities...of course, Brad was #1 male. Even my mom agrees! (Angelina, that home wrecker, was #1 female.)

Sure beat watching that dumb game!

Feh.

I don't think there are any edgy gay love stories that (straight) men and women will both like.

If there is, it will probably be a comedy that will feature two charming and entertaining fellows who are totally sexless.

Brad can always pass along any GAY scripts he doesn't like to "Tom Cruise"! Cruise's PR people will do anything to keep his Career & THEIRS afloat! Thank The Gods..I don't think, Cruise has been seen or heard at any award shows this year! Personally I hope it stays that way. LOL

To replace Achilles?

This would be perhaps to make up for havnig emasculated one of the greatest gay love stories of all time - Achilles and Patrocles - by making them just cousins? (For many years, the phrase "Patrocles was killed in my armor" was my secret button for getting myself sad on stage.) Perhaps he could make a movie of The Last Herald Mage? Or a trilogy, like the books? Probably too much to hope for.

Let's hope he really scrubs himself with that washcloth*. The body odor is awesome, by all accounts. I spotted him in Kiehl's before Christmas, looking rather oily and generally unremarkable. Perhaps he bought some of their liquid body wash.

*someone can auction the washcloth on e-bay. I once read a short story about someone finding an empty beer bottle in an apartment Brad had vacated. The finder took the bottle home, lubed it up and sat on it.

That is just ..... wrong. But whatever tickles one's pickle.

How about THE FRONT RUNNER? Make it just in time for the next Summer Olympics.

I was surprised to see he still has the butt for such things. But I'm always glad to see such things.

Maybe he should talk to Heath Ledger's agent:

Ledger tipped for Rock Hudson role

Oscar nominated actor Heath Ledger is reportedly in final negotiations to play the role of a gay man once again in a new movie about screen legend Rock Hudson.

Ledger is currently receiving widespread praise and is in line for the Best Actor Award at the upcoming Oscars for his portrayal of a gay cowboy in Ang Lee's controversial film 'Brokeback Mountain'.

Hudson died of AIDS-related illnesses in 1985 and kept his sexual preferences secret for the majority of his high-profile career.

A movie insider told film website Aintitcoolnews.com: "After playing a straight man who has a gay relationship, Heath Ledger will do a 180 and play a gay man who has a straight relationship."

IMHO... How is my NYC Neighbor gonna really pull this off? He in no way resembles the "Rock"... Please No Wise Ass, why don't you ask him remarks! HE'S NEVER HOME! He's ALWAYS out selling Some Movie he made! LOL :7

Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon don't look much like Johnny Cash and June Carter, but that little movie is still an Oscar contender.

An observation that, imo, hits the topic's target right on the old bullseye! :7

Since when does the actor have to be a physical double of the person he is portraying? Didn't Kevin Spacey prove that point with his excellent portrayal of Bobby Darin in the movie "Beyond the Sea"? What a great movie, and what an absolutely Oscar worthy acting job by Mr. Spacey!

Speaking of spacey, how about Sissy Spacek's Oscar winning portrayal of Loretta Lynn in the movie "The Coal Miner's Daughter"? In that movie, in her makeup/costumes, she bore an eerily similar appearance to Loretta, and actually sang Loretta's songs in her own voice.

No wonder that Loretta chose Sissy to portray her.

But Loretta was alive then, and still so, and she got to choose who portrayed her. Johnny and June Carter Cash, weren't granted that privilege, so I think both Joaquin and Reese did more than an adequate job, under those circumstances.

Especially Reese, who imo, deserves to win an Oscar, as she just absolutely NAILED June, not so much physically, but definitely with the voice, the mannerisms and everything else that was the public June, which, afterall, is all most of us knew of the woman.

I loved this movie, and when it comes out on DVD, I will definitely be adding it to my video library.

PPS: Johnny and June being gone is just another sad testament that all good things end, and the fact that they passed away within months of each other, is as beautiful of a love story as anything that Shakespeare ever wrote!

But then again, life does go on, as give a listen to Rosanne Cash's latest cd Black Cadillac, just the greatest release by her in the last 5 years!

OMG! A reply from VAHawk that isn't 100% bile! I'll mark this day on the calendar! ;-)

Sissy Spacek was spooky in Coal Miner's Daughter and deserved every inch of that Oscar win. She BECAME Loretta Lynn! I've heard Lynn's relatives actually became confused whether it was the movie or historical footage at points.

But does Phillip Seymour Hoffman look like Truman Capote? No. Does (I forget the actor's name) look like Edward R. Murrow? No.

They're actors, for God's sake. They have makeup and wardrobe, and acting skill, to get them into character.

I just saw Lords of Dogtown where Ledger played an aging surfer (based on a real character who was hanging out on the set when they were making the movie). In that same year he also did a taciturn cowboy, a nervous German academic, Casanova and an Australian junky (in Candy, which just opened in the Berlin festival to pretty good reviews). Five really different characters that have almost nothing in common, they don't even move the same. So I guess he could do Hudson, although as someone said at another site, "Of course, Ledger playing a gay man he looks nothing like is a very easy rumour to start, so you can probably chalk this one up as something we'll never hear again."

VDN, glad you liked the post.

Unfortunately, I don't know what blog it is from. I found it on another site that regularly visit. Unfortunately, they didn't give a source and Google wasn't much help.

I'll e-mail the link to the site. (Although I suspect you already go there judging from some the wonderful pictures you post.) ;-)

Thanks for finding the origin.

I heard it was an April Fools joke. But, seeing it posted with a date of April 5th, I thought I could maybe pass it off here as "gospel". :+
