RE: In my world, the customer is always right.

No surprise to me that your inbox would be full. If I had thought of it, you could have added a reply from me! Count me among your new "quite a fan base"!

I'm not even going to venture into the "crapola" by other posters about what their "opinions" are about other posters, including yours, but that posting by RH was way out of line, imo, and, at least for me, generated my post here to express my support for you. Given the deluge on your email inbox, it seems that many others felt the same way.

WTF??? The "customer is always right???". Do you suppose that RH lives on a different planet from the rest of us mere "mortals"?

I guess, in reality, that he lives here on Earth with the rest of us "peons", but that he has never worked in any kind of "service oriented" industry.

BTW: I agree 100% with your intitial response to the original topic of this thread.

RE: A really hot sex party!

"Do you suppose that RH lives on a different planet from the rest of us mere "mortals"?"

I suppose I do, and happy to live as far away from you guys as possible.

There you go, Tom. VaHawk and deej in yo' pocket. How "Lucky" for you. Maybe ricosuave-barebacking-in-Oz can join you, too. Then you'll have one of those nostalgic sex parties you long for. I'll see if my fourteen-year-old neighbor-boy is interested. His mother tells me he's really HUNG.

Always happy to help bring hot, sexy men together. :-)

RE: Lick this scab.

RockHard: "According to my numbers, Giuliani saved more gay lives than any mayor in NYC's history. Never before has a mayor of this fine city decreased the number of crimes in unprecedented numbers, which seriously benefited gay residents of this city."

From my research, which as an economist there has been many on numbers and studies on the decrease in crime in New York City; Giuliani's efforts had little impact on the numbers. He just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

This philosophy has been argued most recently in Steven D. Levitt's and Stephen J. Dubner's study Freakonomics.

That probably blows a hole in the idea that, "(a)ccording to my numbers, Giuliani saved more gay lives than any mayor in NYC's history."

I do not wish to disrespect Daddy by discussing politics on a board that prohibits such discussion. And my personal politics is: Listen to all sides.

However, Steven D. Levitt said, "The third factor (accounting for the decline in NYC crime) is the increased number of police on the streets, producing increased deterrence and ultimately counting for as much as 10 percent of the diminution in crime in the 1990s."

It took leadership to produce this increase and for this Giuliani gets my nod. You couldn't find a beat cop to save your life during the Dinkins and Koch administrations and I won't go into my experience with muggings during those years.

There are plenty of unkind things I could say about Giuliani but I tend to bite my tongue when I hear a Republican politician speak out against President Bush's desire for a ban on gay marriage. Giuliani has many gay friends, two of whom housed him when he moved out of his Gracie Mansion home during his divorce. There's good reason for such strong friendships. I happen to think the evidence deserves consideration.

Shit! Does that mean that when I die, that I won't go to Heaven??? Now that's depressing, as wtf, I thought you were GOD!, as you seem to dictate to all of us, how we should live, and what is moral and what is immoral and sinful!

Wow, that has got to be the absolutely stupidest statement ever posted on any internet site! Starting to lose it? I tried to warn you to stay away from those sharp pointy objects, damn it! Now you've gone from RockHard to ChalkSoft. What a damn pity! :(

What's REALLY revealing is the insight into you, yourself, with the mention of the 14 yo boy! Like we ALL believe that you know he is "hung" because his "mother" told you so! HAHAHAHAHA! :7

Well, you know Rudy - he was probably letting them suck him off by way of compensating them for the rent it is claimed he never paid.

RE: In my world, the customer is always right.

"Keeping a customer who costs more than he's worth is detrimental to any business."

Obviously, you don't work in show business where difficult customers are the norm. I won't say ALL difficult customers pay off in the long run (because some ARE lunatics) but after many learn and realize they bought the best product money can buy, some of those once difficult customers become your best customers. And there's nothing like great word-of-mouth from a celebrity artist or a major motion picture studio to boost future sales.

deej, sweetie, I ain't sellin' lawn-mowers at Walmart and I'm pretty sure if any Walmart employee told a customer, "you're full of shit," the employee would be fired.

So much for your fine business-practice acumen.

Careful reading.

It just dawned on me, after re-reading my first post here, why Tom Isern felt I meant ALL MEN WHO ATTEND SEX PARTIES in the following sentence. He didn't read the sentence carefully and decided to blowhard on Rockhard. I wrote:

"Apart from the gossip factor, the few men I know who participate in sex parties are hiv+. They claim condoms are available at these events but most of them eat ass and suck cock with wild abandon. Most of them do drugs."

The "they" and the "them" refers to "the few men I know," and I thought it was quite clear that I was speaking of "their" experiences as told to me by them on numerous occasions. It was obvious to me that I was not speaking for ALL men who go to sex parties.

RE: In my world, the customer is always right.

I'll concede on the entertainment industry. As Roxie Hart says in CHICAGO: "There's only one business in the world where that doesn't matter."

The entertainment industry does not HAVE customer service in any sort of the traditional sense. Nor does WalMart, so that example is moot as well. WalMart has clerks who occasionally face customers (grudgingly) but that isn't customer service.

But since you're clearly only interested in skewing this into a discussion it isn't, have at it. You continue to keep the customers who cost you more than they're worth. I wish you well. Sooner or later they'll eat up so many of your resources your profitable customers will go elsewhere in frustration.

RE: Careful reading.

Rock,

I did read your post carefully. Must I remind you what you went on to say:

**********

Imagine how healthy it must be to lick an ass that's been fucked raw earlier in the evening and never cleaned by the time your tongue hits it. Or how about sucking a cock that's had ten or more mouths on it. Many men could care less about washing between sexual encounters.

Sex parties, for the most part, cater to sex addicts, and the majority of sex addicts live in denial, which means your chances of having sex with someone whose never been tested for hiv and openly claims to being hiv negative are substantial. Don't ask, can't tell.

************

The word "most" you reference has, by the end of this diatribe, been completely eclipsed by the gross generalizations you make about sex parties and the people who attend them--people who are, according your own words, for the most part sex addicts who are unaware of the hiv-status. If you would read my posts more carefully, you would understand that my consistent problem with yours is the way you stereotype people and generalize about things you don't understand. Having by your own admission NEVER attended a sex party, who do you think you are to make such moralistic and condemnatory ASSUMPTIONS about what goes on there (as if they are all the same) and about the people who attend them (as if they are all the same)? And don't give me that bull about having seen photos.

RE: In my world, the customer is always right.

...from Hustlers, Escorts, Porn Stars: The Insider's Guide to Male Prostitution in America, the chapter on Top Male Escorts:

Top escorts will only take clients with a professional and pleasant tone of voice. Clients that (sic) are difficult typically ask too many questions, try to control the conversation, or express fears of being ripped off rarely make desirable clients. The top escorts would prefer to make these types of clients someone else's problem.

RE: Chelsea muscle queens

>Every gym I've experienced has men; some cater to Chelsea

>muscle-queen types

Rock, if you've visited Chelsea in the past couple of years, you will have noticed that the steretype of the "Chelsea muscle queen type" no longer exists. Chelsea types are now Carrie Bradshaw-wannabes yapping on their cellphones as they leave the nail salon with their baby strollers on their way to Shoegasm. Many Chelsea gay hangouts (Big Cup, 18th & 8th) are gone, and straight college girls are swarming the neighborhood like locusts. I am no longer complaining about this change; I know that neighborhoods evolve and that NYC real estate has become too expensive, etc. My point is...the term "Chelsea muscle-type" really has outlived its purpose. OK, end of rant and you may return to your scheduled sniping. :p

As long as all my muscle-queen friends reside in Chelsea, the stereotype lives. Like you, they've got great rents. And they're still eating at Cafeteria.

"Chelsea types are now Carrie Bradshaw-wannabes yapping on their cellphones as they leave the nail salon with their baby strollers on their way to Shoegasm."

Speaking of stereotype...the statement above sounds like it came from one of my chelsea muscle-queen friends who constantly reminds me how much he hates "the breeders." Makes me wonder about his relationship with his parents. :-(

I don't dislike straight people and I never use the word "breeder," but man, those 20-something gals cackling on their cell phones are like nails on a blackboard! :o

RE: Comedy and stereotyping.

"I don't dislike straight people and I never use the word "breeder,"

Well, I do dislike some straight people and certain gay men piss me off, too. Contrary to some, I'm not God and I can't love everybody. But I don't have any problem with you stereotyping.

The first time I heard the derogatory term "breeder" was at a Chelsea gathering of gay men years ago. Given the changing state of real estate in that neighborhood, I hear the term used more and more. It wouldn't surprise me if some queen in Chelsea, whose mother dropped him at birth several times, is responsible for coining this pathetic epithet. Is their anything worse than a scorned Chelsea queen?

"but man, those 20-something gals cackling on their cell phones are like nails on a blackboard!"

I wonder how Tom feels about this stereotype? (Truthfully, I could care less.)

Are you talking about men here or actual women? Cause the other kind of Chelsea queen - you know, the skinny sissy Mary who wishes she was a woman - sounds pretty obnoxious on her cell phone, too. In fact, most New Yorkers are selfish, inconsiderate assholes when it comes to using cell phones in public. Why isn't rico calling for their deaths?

Honey, if you want nails on a chalkboard (or razor blades up your ass), try listening to Tom. A 20-something Carrie Bradshaw type is sounding pretty good to me about now. Where's that nail salon?
