I got this from Rentmen. I requested clarification. I am wondering if it means violators will be suspended or what does happen to violators?

"Be aware, that any text that promotes escort services or other services that may be interpreted as providing sexual acts in exchange for compensation is strictly forbidden, including information about rates or donations. It is not allowed to publish phone numbers, email addresses or external links, except personal websites.

If you need any clarifications, please contact us.

Thank you for your understanding!

Also, are they aware that their own website publishes every "pornstar's" phone number right now?

Perhaps they've been advised that there's a legal distinction

The warning message regards the TEXT in an ad. No prices or phone numbers in the ad "body."

To access phone numbers, users click on "contact me."

Perhaps there's a difference between relatively passive PUBLISHING of a phone number, and making it available on a data base in response to a user's ACTION.

.....just a hypothesis....

Your guess is as good as any. I hope @freecahill1965 gets an answer that explains their thinking.

Come on, guys, we all are receiving that letter. The excerpt quoted by the OP makes much more sense in the context of the full message, and specially in the context of the overall situation.

They are trying to document that their intention is to respect and enforce the law. Call them stupid if you want, and probably they are doing some stupid stuff amid the panic wave we are going through, but they are trying to adjust and survive to the changing context.

I have criticized RM many times for their euphemisms and other practices, but right now RM should not be the target of our criticism and sarcasm.

People need to lookup the legal definition of escort services: https://sex-crimes.laws.com/prostitution/the-difference-between-prostitution-services-and-escort-services

What is an Escort?

An Escort is defined by an individual whose company, time, and companionship is available to be undertaken within a commercial setting; customers and consumers with regard to escort services available for patronization will be provided with varying monetary rates with regard to the implicit pricing latent within the engagement of escort services. Escort services, which are oftentimes referred to through the associated colloquialism of ‘Call Girls’ due to the fact that individuals – typically classified to be females – provide the patronization o their services through telephone contact. Commonly, escort services offer the following: Company and escorts available for patronization with regard to individuals desiring accompaniment non-sexual in nature. Escorts employed by escort services, which allow for clientele to choose the identity – or person – with regard to hired escort

What is Prostitution?

Prostitution is the criminal act defined as the exchange of sexual acts - which can include intercourse, penetration, and copulation – for financial or commercial gain or opportunity. Prostitution is illegal in nature, the methods of protection for prostitutes – those engaging in Prostitution – is unreliable, at best; prostitutes are often exploited by those patronizing their services, as well as other individuals demanding fees and elicit payment in exchange for ad-hoc protection – these individuals are colloquially known as ‘pimps.' The dangers of prostitutions are listed as contributory to the rampant proliferation of not only violence, abuse, exploitation, sexually transmitted disease, and unwanted pregnancy. Prostitution is considered to differ from an escort service with consideration to the absence of both the offering and advertising of illicit sexual activity; however, debates exist with regard to the implicit nature of the illegality rooted within the prospect of sexual activity in an indirect fashion

Therefore, rentmen is offering companion services. It is not offering or condoning sexual activity. I can't imagine anyone one hiring a nice companion for sexual activity. It would violate the law. We hire from RM for companionship.

Yeah, and every pornstar in San Fernando Valley is technically a prostitute, because they have sex for money, and every porn film maker is technically a pimp? Ok, ok, I’ll stop trying to make any sense of this and instead I am going to spend a very nice time having non-sexual relationship with hotbra: https://rentmen.eu/Hotbra

I’m so confused... every RM ad has an I Am Into section under Services and Donations with options: Anal | Feet | Kissing | Cum | Nipples | Role Play | Spanking | Socks | Armpits | Fisting | Foreskin | Jocks | Muscle | Rimming | Shaving | WS | Oral | Groups

Are these not interpreted as sexual acts?

"What I am into" is indicative of describing interests, which in turn is describing attributes of oneself.

This is no different than listing stats.

What crosses the line of sexual acts or implied sexual acts would be listing a "menu" or "services".

RM does give the option to list "boyfriend experience" under "available for".

This is probably the most substantial thing that can get RM in trouble.

Didn't work for RentBoy or Backpage.

What is the difference between a porn star and a prostitute?

https://medium.com/@michellehuelle/what-is-the-difference-between-a-porn-star-and-a-prostitute-3ba4a38338ce

"It sounds like the beginning of a crude joke but I’m serious. A porn star performs sex acts for money in front of a camera. A prostitute performs sex acts for money in private. One is legal and the other isn’t. One has protections by law, the other is an outlaw, meaning outside the law, unprotected."

Isn’t it amazing that we have to resort to definitions from a stay-at-home Christian mum?

At least she is making sense.

That was refreshing. @stevenkesslar, here's a religious woman who might not consider herself a feminist who's in favor of decriminalization.

I don't know what the big deal about Christian mums is.

But of course I'm totally biased. That's what happens when you are the son of the Church Lady.

It's hard having a celebrity mum, honestly. And I blame her for messing me up. She was always bringing celebrity whores home.

And if y'all ask me to define whore, I'm gonna sick my mum on you.

On RM most of the men advertising are clearly labelled as Pornstars. They perform sexual acts in front of a camera. We clients are consumers of porn. We hire them for companionship, and part of that is conversation. The 'I Am Into' section identifies potential topics for discussion while we enjoy milk and cookies with our companions.

Am I missing something here?
