The only question I have as to the legality (let's leave the ethical issues aside since I think your discussion is great) does each creator on OnlyFans have to copyright the material he posted? Or does the mere posting on the site create a copyright? I recall seeing on some porn something which states that the material to follow has a copyright and that you break the law if you watch it without buying it properly. I think that you have to register it somewhere to get the copyright (some town in Delaware no doubt). If you don't do it you have no copyright and a person can use the product without paying for it.

Current copyright law in the US doesn't require any registration; copyright is automatic once your work is in a fixed, tangible form. It is not true that if you do not register a copyright that you do not have a copyright. As soon as it's on film (or it’s a book or photo or painting, etc), it's copyrighted. Copyright protection lasts for 70 years beyond the life of the creator, unless it's an anonymous work in which case it lasts a set number of years. These rules have been in place since 1978; prior to that the rules were different. You can see more about that here: https://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-duration.html

Here's a great reference for copyright in general: https://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap1.html#102

I understand someone with no resources, like a teenager per example, trying to hack some porn from the Internet. But if we are guys able to pay hundreds, even thousands of dollars for a session with an escort, I do not understand the reluctance to pay a very low monthly subscription.

I am trying to make an effort, and I do understand hacking a porn studio, or pornhub. But hacking onlyfans, where we know we are stealing directly from the same guys we pledge to like, love, and support.... no, I do not get it.

Let me get that DMCA notice ready to send over to you. ;)

All works are automatically copyrighted regardless of paperwork filed or not.

In regards to downloading content for your own private use, OnlyFans has this stipulation in their TOS that forbids that:

  •
  • Note that 8.2.3 is not concerning user published content and only pages of the website that do not depict user content. The TOS makes that distinction earlier in their TOS.

If it was a permitted action, there would be an easier way to download said content.

In other words, please support your content creators by subscribing and supporting their means to creating further content.

Thanks very much for what you provided. The stipulation was that the person who wished to download did in fact subscribe before trying to download. Unfortunately, the rest of the 8.2 I have no idea what the fuck it means. It appears that it allows you to download one copy "of a reasonable number of pages" for your own personal, non-commercial use. So don't spread it around. That was also my original stipulation.

You clearly stopped reading half way through my earlier post where the "webpage" is not user content.

In any case, here are a few more TOS agreements when it comes to downloading user content and the redistribution of said content:

AND, the grandaddy TOS term of them all that makes this entire thread null and void:

No I read it. However, as I noted in my opening posts I am more than computer ignorant. Ignorant would be a step up for me. I just had very little idea of what you were saying. The language seemed to indicate that a subscriber could download for personal use (if they could figure out how to do it). That may be not what it means at all. Perhaps the performer will take me to court for violating copyright law. However, I am not distributing or even showing anyone else except my right hand. As I said, thank you for trying to explain it to me.
