Verification Tips?

I'm in the preliminary stages of setting something up with an unreviewed gent. Things are going well, but I'm finding I want to confirm his legitimacy. Mostly because he's being a teensy bit cagey about a couple things.

 

So I post here to ask:

1. Anybody want to lend their advanced photosleuthing skills? (I've already exhausted my limited abilities in that area.)
   
2. What are your go-to techniques for confirming that a gent is not part of some sting or other sort of entrapment hustle?

Isn't it weird that in this day and age, we are still dealing with these concerns? I know online sleuthing techniques have been discussed here many times, so I won't restate them, but your final line of defense if you feel it is necessary, is meeting the individual in a public space; ask for ID, look him in the eye and never, NEVER provide payment upfront. Just my opinion...

1. the extent of my photo verification ability is to right-click it in Google Chrome (Firefox doesn't seem to have the option anymore) and select "google this image".....results vary greatly, but, occasionally, the same picture turns up with helpful extra info.....

 

2. if meeting with a new person, I ask during pre-meet planning if he is ok with receiving payment at the end of the meeting and if he is ok with NOT talking about money at all during the meeting.....I MAY ask him to meet in a public lobby or similar public place, but some may balk at that idea......I may also sit and talk for several more minutes than normal since some sting teams often need/want to do things quickly.....do not get a room with connecting doors.....meet in a place that YOU set up......and you may want to try jawjateck's surefire sting-repellent suggestion: give the provider a sloppy, wet, passionate kiss the instant you open the door....surely no self-respecting member of law-enforcement would put up with that??!!!......

I'm more concerned that an escort will not deliver or that there won't be chemistry between the two of us than I am of getting involved in a sting. I listen to my gut. If things don't seem right I don't move forward.

I am not concerned about such a thing, or waste my time researching pictures. I ask for a videoconference call, if the answer is any excuse I move on to the next one.

I don't know if cagey is exactly correct.

I have no techniques for sting-avoidance.

 

Depending on the device, photo research may be challenging. My latest effort involved looking at the source code, searching the code page for "jpg", and then researching from there. This was only after I couldnt right-click to search image or save image. Oddly, while a right-click search google image search produced nothing, going to google images desktop and pasting an image url produced results for the same image. Only purpose of image search really is to privately confirm or allay suspicions. Its really not proof.

 

Videochat is more reliable. And, it might be more efficient to just proceed to video anyway..... with the understanding it will eliminate a few genuine guys along with the fakes.

 

And, when I'm uncertain, I'll insist on meeting at public place, rather than door to his place or mine. At least its an easier setting for "never mind" or even "get lost, you lying ass"

The new version of Firefox does, but you have to get a new compatible extension. There's at least one escort in LA who's deaf, and needs written communication (but doesn't mention his deafness in the ad or on initial contact). There are others who aren't comfortable with English and who insist on written communication as well.
