Net Neutrality uneasiness

Can someone here assure me that I'm being overly paranoid by believing that the lifting of the net neutrality restrictions is Trump's way of giving Putin increased cyber flexibility?

I think it is Trump's way of giving ATT, Comcast and Verizon greater profits, and enables them to squeeze smaller players in the market. I don't think it particularly gives an advantage to Russian interests.

Trump probably doesn't know enough about Net Neutrality to even care - as long as they don't interfere with his four to eight hours of watching television each day (per NY Times).

But the law of unintended consequences applies. How many of Trump's base will be willing to pay Comcast's surcharge for carrying "conservative" media? Will they all pay extra to get Fox, Breitbart, Drudge, et al or will they fall out of the hypnotism cone?
