"Hiding behind Guy" is just another idiotic idea in your mad head. Just like "scandal" you are trying to raise from nothing Lol Bye, goofy Lol
um, you’re the one who posted “My big luck that Guy allows me to represent Rentboy.pro to you guys. He doesn't have to. Thanks a lot to him.”

Not for instudioHOSPITAL@instudiocity. That psycho "knows" everything better Lol

I’m not easily swayed by your bullshit.

FYI, motherfucker, there isn’t a hospital in Studio City.

Wow. So much animosity here. Let me give my two cents. First, full disclosure. I am working with rentboy.pro as an independent collaborator. I have been giving feedback from the beginning, and I submitted an article that will be published once they start a new section in their website. The articles I will be writing are my personal opinion, I am not given any editorial lines or list of subjects to write about. In exchange, what they are doing for me is publishing a banner with my blog's logo and link.

So it is out of question that I do have a personal interest involved in the success of Rentboy.pro. It is also a fact that if my opinion has any weight in our community it is due to my honesty and intended objectivity. I have not lied, I do not lie, I will not lie.

About @SecretShopper breaking the site rules. I think it is a pointless argument, @Guy Fawkes has blessed his participation. Personally, I appreciate we have a voice representing a player in the industry. SShopper is not hiding his interest and his bias, he has stated clearly his affiliation. I wish we also had representatives from rentmen, A4A, and every other member of the hiring community.

About the free sample. I agree it was a very bad idea, in my and many others' opinion it was borderline abusive of the professionals. We communicated our criticism, and rentboy.pro changed the model. Did they make a mistake. Yes, a big one. Did they listen to feedback, accept their mistake, and correct the situation? Hell yes. I actually think that the whole process speaks loudly about their willingness to take constructive feedback and actually make improvements. They are not just saying they are listening, they are operating actual improvements based on our criticism.

About the non commercial nature of the project. Let's not be disingenuous. Rentboy.pro is non commercial, but the business plan is eventually to become a for profit website. It is explained in the very rentboy.pro website. They are offering to the providers the free publication for now, warning them that in about one year they will have to start paying a low fee. Like any on line project, they are right now growing and as part of that growing strategy they are offering everything for free. But that is not for ever.

I am actually thrilled we have the chance to work with them offering our criticism, shaping a new website to our (clients and professionals) needs.

Going back to my initial comment, it does puzzles me the unfriendly animosity. We are a very small community, instead of supporting each other we are hating. Boytoy doesn't talk to Daddy's. Daddy's does not talk to boytoy. Whether or not you are still distrustful, Rentboy.pro is indeed the most promising new player I have seen in at least a decade, however some of us seem to be betting to their failure.

I don't think SS is breaking the rules. I'm quite certain that Daddy set out ground rules that he must follow. I dont really see how he is actively promoting the site. What I see is happening is no different than the other reps for the other sites getting feedback and addressing concerns. This is a new site, there are going to be issues and I feel SS is doing his best to address those and right what might be wrong. I applaud that cause ultimately that is what is going to make the site become successful. RM has done some things that I am uncomfortable with and it sounds like this new site is addressing those issues and hopefully will not go down that same path. I'm all for the free market, capitalism and competition and I hope RBP will fill the needs of the market that RM cant or won't.

Hugs,

Greg

I'm a bit worried about jumping in on this thread, but I thought I'd point out part of @SecretShopper first post on it:

I hope you guys noticed that we take your constructive crit to improve the site

Which flags him as involved with rentboy.pro (note the "we" in the statement). If he discussed being involved with the rentboy.pro site with @Guy Fawkes first and stays within whatever rules set by good for him.

Be it an escorting site or some other one, the fact that it is listening to feedback and making changes sounds like a good thing. It's a new site and it will take some time to not only attract escorts to advertise there, but for whatever changes we as clients might want to see.

As a client, I'd love "free samples", but it seems that once pointed out it's not really believable they changed how that was done (to actually hiring). This is responding to feedback. I'm not sure a site reviewing an escort is going to be fully trustworthy, as a bad review will mean a possible lost customer, but it is a response. For something just a few months old, they seem to be trying.

I think it's understandable they want a voice here, so when an idea comes up they can get more details.

If any of us were starting a new escorting site, where else should we go to get input?

Anyway.

  1. I've not heard anyone express a fondness for a monopolized, single-provider niche for listing services
  2. M4RN, Hourboy, BackPage and others are slowly evaporating or being hobbled, solidifying that single-provider position in the listing service marketplace
  3. Presumably both clients and providers benefit from a competing listing service, if for no other reason than to encourage RM to be responsive & affordable

  4. Therefore, it would seem to be in the best interests of everyone who cared to see any competitor thrive, even if it is flawed.
  5. Any critically-flawed business model will inevitably fail but if the demand for a service persists then another will appear in the marketplace - if you don't like it then simply wait with benign disregard for this to occur.

  6. It seems to me that the most constructive step forward for everyone who cares is to give constructive feedback, make suggestions, sacrifice a goat, or whatever, for any RM competitor.

It's nothing personal; it's just business.

The topic of the reviews is interesting. We believe in the truthfulness of Daddy's Reviews (I do), however their usefulness and authenticity are heavily questioned in other sites. Rentmen has a review system, but we all know it is very questionable. The task of providing vetted, 100% trustable reviews is, in my opinion, impossible.

Rentboy.pro comes with the idea of the secret shopper model to verify posters and provide a very short and family friendly description of their service. The limitations of the model are quite obvious. However, considering that every other reviews system has detractors, I would not waste my energies trying to make everyone happy.

If I were @SecretShopper I would read very carefully @Keith30309 feedback, and I would rather invest my time on effecting those improvements.

One of the things I miss from the old Rentboy was their community activism. If I see than Rentboy.pro is also willing to invest in building community, that would make it very appealing to me, much more than reviews to the escorts.

One of the many good things that come with having several outlets competing for our attention, is diversity. If we are looking for The One Outlet That Will Meet All Our Expectations, we are lost. Having a diverse array of outlets allows us to research, to contrast the info obtained from different websites. I would leave Daddy's reviews as they are, Rentmen's reviews as they are, Rentboy.pro secret shopper and comments system as it is.

Can you explain how the secret shopper process works?
