Why do I have to keep signing in?

For the last two weeks, every time I want to answer a PM or reply to a post, I have to sign in with my email address and my password. I'm able to comply, but it's a nuisance. I've been a member for years. Is this a new requirement for everyone?

No. Next time look at the whole sign on screen and see if there's a 'keep me signed in' box to check and make sure that you have checked it.

Safari private browsing seems to do this where Chrome doesn't have the problem.

I think private browsing means there's no cookies, so yeah, the website would have no idea who you are each time.

Kevin, that's my understanding as well. Private browsing is supposed to do that (not keep any cookies or history, or cache pages).
