not that I'm itching to hear any gossip or bad news, but noticed recently that prolific poster "RexB" is now listed as a non-member guest....just wanted to acknowledge his always-helpful comments and posts....if anybody here knows him directly, just pass on the word that I'm grateful for his contributions....

I tried a search and didn't find any previous discussion on his whereabouts.....thanks

I don't know him personally. :)

I do remember a post he made about getting out of the escorting hobby and that some guy he wanted to see pulled him back in. He then asked about the guy and he was a around a bit longer after that.

Maybe RexB has had his fun and decided to withdraw as much as possible to avoid getting drawn back in.

I don’t understand this thread.

You are talking about M4M forum, right?

What does it mean to be a non-member guest?

How do you become one? By stopping to post? Breaking a rule? Something else?

yes, this forum....

he used to be a helpful, regular, posting, respected member-in-good-standing....and now is not a "member", has no lingering old profile, and is listed in his old posts as a "guest" (not a member)....

he either broke some rule and was "banned", deliberately chose to drop out and asked admin to delete his profile, or ?????

Ahh, so a guest member is actually an ex-member. Understood.

Did you notice that DeepSouthDad53 is now a guest too?

I have no information about either RexB or DeepSouthDad53, but the one person I know who became a "Guest" on this site did so at his request.

He initially asked for his account to be deleted and was informed by the administrator that this isn't done. Instead, he was converted to "Guest" status, meaning that his existing posts now carry that designation and his Profile Page is gone (or inaccessible).

(There are also many posters designated as "Guests" in the very oldest threads on the site, so my guess is that -- probably during some site update -- a number of them who hadn't contributed in years were converted to that status.)

I don't think that's generally how people who are timed-out or banished from the site are handled. One of the more infamous of The Banished is still listed as a "Viscount" (although his Profile Page is unavailable) and there are other posters with the punitive designation "Time-out" (also with unavailable Profile Pages).
