Tonight, when the Cardinals played the Giants, the cards' excellent rookie shortstop, Masyn, faced off against the Giants' not so terrific starting pitcher, Keaton.

i'd say it was a Winn-Winn situation, but Masyn had a walk and a hit in two plate appearances against Keaton.

I can cut a piece of wood in half just by looking at it.

It's true, I saw it with my own eyes.

That would read better if you deleted the word can.

The way it's written, the first sentence just reads as an ability that you have, while the second one reads as something that you had seen.

If you edit it, the meaning of the first sentence changes and it then reads as something you had done, with the second sentence then verifying that.

And yes, I am almost indescribably bored tonight.

One way to ease your boredom tonight would be to begin that sentence with a capital I in the word "if", and then change the word "end" to and.

Glad we're able to help each other out on a slow Friday evening. 😉

I had already changed the word end by the time you posted that, and you have to blame Siri for the capitalization situation because I am dictating this on my phone.
