Good evening forum.

Derek Atlas shows his unprofessional side yet again. Please see his negative review just posted on Daddys. It's review #21.

What has been said of Derek is that IF he shows up he can be a great provider of services. If being the serious problem as his no-show rate is unacceptably high as is well documented in these forums. But as I suspected, that doesn't portray the full picture: he can be an unprofessional jerk even if he shows. Don't believe me? Check out his review today.

Surely we in the Gay and Bi community deserve better, right?

Warmest regards,

Josh

I am sorry to see this latest review for Derek. I have experienced a wonderful and amazing session with him and a no show too, but the time he did make the appointment, he was excellent in every way. This most recent review, in addition to the previous review (with his hateful and poorly expressed rebuttal) makes me fearful that his previous ability to stay highly functional even when under the influence of alcohol (when I met with him, he'd brought up a bottle of beer from the hotel bar) or other stuff may be catching up with him.

It is quite sad to me. He may have more going on in his life than he can handle right now or he may just have become burned out, continuing to escort only for the cash. As you stated, @josh282282, he had a bad reputation for too many no-shows but great reviews when he did show. Unfortunately, if he continues down the path these two most recent reviews delineate, his future as an escort does not appear promising.

Don't care if he's "burned out". We are all burned out from our work, but we carry on and try to be as professional as possible. $300 an hour or $500 for 2 hours or $1500 for an overnight get together is good money for anyone. Screw him. His business should crash and his arrogant ass should enter the real world, which I'm sure he won't be able to handle!!

Alcoholism and other addictions are serious conditions leading to diminished health, possible jail time and shortened life expectancy. This is not something to be looked down upon. I hope 'Derek' can admit to himself that he has a serious problem and will seek help.

I don't want to reframe your quote or heap, what I perceive to be societal opinions on yours, but I think if Derek was a clerk at Wal-Mart or the DMV, there would be a lot less empathy.

Sorry, if DA is making $300 an hour, that is 20 times the less than national hourly rate of $15 an hour.

Suck it up butter cup. You could be frying hamburgers at McDonald's for $8.25 an hour.

No sympathy here.

What a cruel post. I am strictly a bystander here and have no personal knowledge of Derek Atlas. But even the blind could see that Mr. Atlas is an alcoholic, either chronic or binge-, based on reading reviews. Yes, he is unprofessional and irresponsible at work, and that behavior is totally unacceptable. He also appears to be very sick. Compassion is called for, not hate. Compassion, not enabling. Alcoholics already hate themselves enough.

Alcohol and other sensory-altering agents are also frequently resorted to in desperation for relief from agonizingly stressful burdens. Unless or until Mr. Atlas is inspired to share the nature of his difficulty(ies) one can only guess.

I think there’s an awful lot of wild conjecture in this thread about substance addictions that Mr Atlas may - or may not - be suffering from.

Wild conjecture can also take the form of unwarranted and/or uninformed dismissiveness.

He actually sounds very typical of guys at that age/scene. Think of any bar/club scene and then realize it's a full time job.

Lots of personal stuff being revealed in this post. Is it OK to announce here details about an escort's family life? And aren't we all practicing long distance therapy? I as well didn't like the way he responded previously. But the guy still deserves a modicum of privacy.

I totally agree with Becket. That stuff is none of our effing business.

What? Your post does not even make sense.

To legitimately declare a conjecture "wild" requires some credible evidence that the conjecture is substantially incorrect. My contention is that, aside from alcoholism, alcohol is frequently used for relief from other issues, and that until Mr. Atlas chooses to share, one can only guess. If you are privy to information that credibly dispels any/all of the suggestions posted, please just state that you have such information (without divulging the actual information or source(s))

I do not have information about his private matters and neither do you. We’re not here to “credibly dispel” any “suggestions,” we’re here to share facts.
