As I was trying to fall asleep last night I thought of the TV show "My World...". Then I thought about the cartoonist who's work was featured on the show, James Thurber. Which led me to a memory of a musical I was in based upon a Thurber story. Which led me to thinking about the composer of the show who died of an aids related condition in the mid-80s. Which led me to search the internet to see if he had a virtual existence. He does (barely) and a revue featuring his songs was produced as an amfar fundraiser some years ago. The music director is a very well respected member of the Broadway community. I've reached out to his mgmt via email explaining that I had been a friend/collaborator decades ago and would love to know more about the revue. I wonder if they'll forward it to music director?

Anyone else have these sort of pre-sleep thought processes?

I occasionally take a 10 mg ambien and then go sleep eating!

My first and last Ambien - I apparently went sleep-banking to the drive-thru ATM, spent $300 on-line and trashed the kitchen making and eating a mega-breakfast - none of which I remember doing.

Only NyQuil gives me worse jitters than Ambien.

That is so surprising for me. NyQuil is my "go to" when I really need to sleep, but can't.

I guess I just have some really odd body chemistry. Most people fall asleep on NyQuil, I get amped up. Shrug

We can never know. My body chemistry is too much the other way. Every over-the-counter remedy that specified "non-drowsy" on the label that I have ever tried put me to sleep. I suppose I should be thankful that I'm retired and have the time to sleep. :)
