Traveling: Why is it that more and more clients can't host?

You don't need a credit card to put down for incidental charges. I have been a touring escort for more than five years and I have NEVER had a credit card!! You can use a debit card to out down for incidentals as long as you have $100-150 or whatever the required deposit amount comes to.

Another option is often available to put down a cash deposit. If you had pre-arranged this with an escort & added his name to your room, you could leave 100-150 in cash with the front desk for a room deposit, subtract it from the cash given to the escort for his fee, and he could pick it up from the front desk when he checks out of the hotel. Therefore if he takes anything from the mini bar or orders room service, its subtracted from his own fee.

I've taken up a client on his offer to allow me to stay in a room after he left our meeting only once or twice in my career. That's because typically I'm the one hosting. The client's card was securing the room, but of course I didn't order anything that would have been charged to him. I'm well-known & reputable though, so my clients may have had a little more grounds to trust me and it worked out fine for them... :D

Guys. I typically get a room when I hire and it is not unusual that I don't need to room after he and I finish our appointment

However, I would be afraid to let the escort have my room afterwards. His buying room service/mini bar is a small risk. The big risk in my mind that he keeps the room - later someone get assaulted or worse and the room is in my name.

Since the escort in question was not a regular I would never allow him to stay on after I leave.

It wasn't a reply to.... @coriolis888 you aren't even the OP of this thread, you just told a story I was quoting @OliverSaks when he talked about shady escorts.

I should have said: shady? Try finding someone who fucking smokes now a days, I was a weirdo when I was young because I didn't smoke then, NOW who the hell smokes.

I didn't even quote you on that one, cause that happened to @MikeBiDude

and @latbear4blk I didn't say that escort smokes... read again.

This was my reply to you, after you hired the non smoking escort.

Please review him (if you haven't done it already).

Who the hell smokes? More people than you would believe. And I think it is skewed to the younger guys.

Last time I checked the stats, the numbers were dropping, but still about 20% of people would smoke. If I remember properly, Native Americans were the highest smokers followed by White Males.

I teach Black and Latino teens in DC. A few of them do smoke tobacco, but it is rare. Weed is the norm.

When dealing with escorts, not many of them have a credit card. Therefore, your suggestion will not work in the discussed situation. Even if a hotel payment is made in advance, any extra "incidental charges" are added to the bill and the person who rented the room is obligated to pay.

Hotels also permit cash deposits for incidentals. There are ways, and ways, around dealing with the issue, if you look for solutions.

And I'm not sure I buy into the argument that "not many of them have a credit card". That's a bit of a stereotype, especially when you consider that most of the ones we discuss here have ads on websites where a credit card is needed.
