One of my learnings from this site is to try other venues for meeting guys.

I only created an Adam4Adam profile within the past few days.

This morning, a very good-looking guy from South Africa said hello via message. Seeking loving LTR. I'm not naive... and even if I was, whats practical about consdidering a guy on another continent? But I decided to not let skepticism prevent what might be interesting chat. After a few questions, he asks if I have whats@pp. 60 seconds later, A4A messages that his account is suspended

My first reaction is that he was a scammer, and he was caught coincidentally while communicating with me. After a moment, I wondered if A4A has some kind of monitor-bot that suspends for mentioning other forms of communication.

Just curious... closest I ever knowingly came to online trouble.

Does anyone know.... are there real time message monitoring engines that will suspend an account for mentioning other, potentially competing, communication methods?

whats@pp.

Is that the literal text he wrote? It seems like a dead giveaway he was trying to avoid monitoring, so I think you are on the right track. I'm sure they have a long list of keywords, I'm pretty sure they have to to demonstrate they are taking some minimal steps to prevent use of the platform for flagrant illegality, like kiddie porn, but I'm not a lawyer.

guessing, but it sounds like A4A has a monitoring system that picks up on mention of an outside site.....

too bad you lost touch with "the man that got away"??!!......

i think he got caught sending out mass messages and trying to redirect people to somewhere else.

Nah.

If I wasnt bored, killing time, I probably wouldnt have answered his first message. I was under no illusions we'd ever meet real life. Or that he was even real. He didnt get away.

No regrets or longing on this one. Simply curiosity.... did he get nabbed for scam behavior? Or suspended for mentioning wh@ts@pp on A4A?

they do remove fake profiles and scammers within 24 hours if you report them.

Several times week, messages, purportedly from amazingly dreamy guys show up in my A4A mail box. They usually start out flirty and fun, and they end up inviting me to a party. Within a short period of time after the party invitation, the account is suspended.

Well I have an account with Adam4Adam on the pro section A lot of times when guys message me before they come over I would like to have a conversation with them and more important I don't like to have my address put over a message board for them to get to me so I ask then to call or text me at my number. Put on the other side of the spectrum I've had that same problem with clients where I want to check them out and they were suspended but thank you for enlightening me with that. It just hit me why a lot of clients won't reach me back after I give them my number. But I know this as a provider I want to know who's coming to my house not that I'll know everyone, I just have an issue with giving my address over a message board

I'm fairly certain that I was messaging with a scammer.... and the timing just worked out that A4A caught and shut him down just as we were actively messaging.

While in the app, I cant read his accounts messages.... the A4A system generated this unread message email to me this morning:

Member: Faithful_Own1

Last message: Yes I'm and what is your cell number and full name for us to be able to get in touch there and see from there..

I never would have complied with that request anyway.

For what it's worth, anywhere on the net, one of my buddies always says: start out with the conviction you ARE chatting with a scammer and let him prove to you he is not!

A little frustrating, a little sad, even. But practical.

I'm not quite at that point... dont start by assuming everyone's a scammer.

But I definitely start out with my skeptic-antennae out, that its possibly a scammer.
