You ought to be ashamed of yourself! Just kidding, only saying that cause I live there. However, it is probably one of the (if not the) most architecturally diverse cities in the U.S. Of course, burning down to the ground didn't hurt. That way most of the leading U.S. architects got to have a go at it here. And the major architects got to go from brick architecture to modern architecture. As noted above, the boat tours are incredible. And because much of the architecture is downtown you can see a lot on foot. Frank Lloyd Wright is probably the only noted architect that has much of his work in the suburban area. Come, see. :)

@TruthBTold , that was my first thought and I don't live there anymore.

being world-famous for its architecture, there are several companies that offer tours of this aspect of Chicago....I'm partial to this one because it's non-profit and seems, well, just more serious about architecture.....

I took a walking tour and a boat tour from this group......both fantastic.....on the boat tour, the nice lady talked for 90 minutes straight, then we headed out onto the lake and the boat turned around to face the skyline as the guide raised her hands high over her head in a glorious salute......a little melodramatic, but certainly an impressive sight to salute.....legendary, fantastic city

+1

The downtown is amazing, but I agree, the residential architecture is not to be missed. Frank Lloyd Wright is pure genius, and some of his students should be noted as well.

Occasionally his homes come up for sale, many at very reasonable prices for something that I consider priceless museum pieces.

To my defense, I haven't been in this country for very long. I will visit Chicago at some point.

TG - I apologize. I only meant to be joking. However, (except when it is too cold or too hot) Chicago definitely has a lot to enjoy. When you aren't visiting the buildings, you can also stuff yourself like a pig. A lot of good restaurants and they are now cropping up all over the City. Whenever you do get here please enjoy yourself.

Ok now who can look past the guy and name the city:

Ok, I am going to make a guess based on

1. Beach and sea in the distance

2. Palm trees can be seen in the street below

3. Vague resemblance with other images in google:

ACAPULCO?

I thought Mazatlán, checked some images, but the tower to the right didn't look quite right. Still I'll go with that guess. Wow, this browser put the accent on the á.

Congratulations azdr0710 I wondered how long it was going to take somebody who knows me to figure it out. Yes indeed it is Puerto Vallarta. Photo is taken out toward the hotel zone away from the old town where I hang out. However, I just might seriously consider moving out to that area if the hotel guaranteed that this guy would be in the room waiting to greet me.
