Do you abhor auto mechanics? This is why I do...

Mechanics want to fix cars, but some also want to charge $100/hr just to remove a battery and a couple screws. The law doesn't protect them from charging whatever hourly rate they wish to post and for however little of that hour they take to work on it.

LOL, have you looked at what escorts are charging these days for some foreplay and a single screw??? (It's whatever hourly rate they wish to post, and for some, not all, it's for however little of that hour they take to work on it.)

But what makes Mocha's feckless whining even worse, he admits to having prior knowledge that he had a rupture in the condenser.

Good Lord! I can't imagine someone creating so much drama for the attention of others.

I gave up my car in LA 2 years ago. When I get to 62, bus and subway will be 75¢ per direction. I rent when I need wheels. 2016 was about $3k with no maintenance or down time.

You're a practical and patient guy. Mass transit in LA is inadequate and often difficult to use.

Lol, well let me just tell you something. Having the ability to have sex with someone, anyone...is a gift. I'm not going to argue who's work is harder: auto tech or escort. But I think the world and statistics could answer that. There's dozens of mechanics along any one stretch of road. But how oft are you to even run into 1 escort at any auto repair shop?

And again, the technician is generally charging for labor, for parts, for the shop, the advertising, the light bill, the machinery being used, etc. It's not, "my rate is $250 but ALSO, you made me cum, use lube and condoms, stained the sheets... so that's going to be $500 in parts AND labor". $250 was just the labor cost. Hell, if we get technical, a vial of sperm can cost $400-800. Why am I only getting $250? Lol.

Now, as someone who works on my vehicle, i understand. Obviously it's common sense: parts/labor. No one works for free. But it's also a capitalist country and they're out to capitalize off your vehicle's need to be repaired.

That said, I'll tell you the technicians I do love:

I love barber technicians. I don't cut my own hair. I've gone to barbers from Washington D.C. to L.A. and all in between. You Actually feel good when you leave out.

I like technicians in the medical field. And lately that seems to be where all the hot guys are working nowadays is in the medical field. I was hospitalized for 2 days last year and had about 3 HOT nurses back to back. Seems like the old rule of not having tattoos showing at work has gone out the window.

That said: everything is water under the bridge now. For the first time I had to wear a sweater this month because the A/C felt like it was blowing sub zero temperature. Colder than it was before. Didn't expect to pay the extra but it was a job well done.

The irony is that Mocha would lose his mind should someone suggest that his services were not worth the price quoted.

So yesterday I took my car in to get a fill on the a/c refrigerant. I had the condenser puncture and lose the liquid responsible for cooling, after a truck dropped a bunch of large rocks on the freeway few weeks ago

It’s a pedantic point, but the refrigerant in a car’s A/C system is a gas, not a liquid. There is a tiny amount of liquid lubricant in there, but otherwise no liquid. If you see liquid dripping from your A/C system it’s probably water running off of the condenser. Anything other than water will be a fluid leak unrelated to the A/C system.

boo boo...let me just show you. Trust me I'm not a fucking idiot. I worked on another car a/c about 6 years ago. I lived in Florida for 19 years. The place where air conditioning was invented. So, I know the basics.

From what I remember you live in the U.K. They probably don't legally allow sell of r134 refrigerant. But, anyone in America knows when you shake the little cans of "freon", it's shaking as a liquid. That's why the instructions say: DONT TURN THE CAN UPSIDE DOWN because that R134 will go into the compressor as a liquid instead of a gas and ruin it. I don't know the exact chemistry of R134 but it starts as a liquid but is a gas only in certain conditions aka, high pressures. In switches back and forth between a gas and a liquid. What you're saying is half truth because:

acdiagram.jpg

But you're partially right. The "leak" in my condensor was coming out as a gas. It looked like it was smoking. After the rock hit the condenser, it took only half an hour for my system to be completely emptied of the charge. There isn't a small amount of lubricant. My car carries 8.5 ounces of actual liquid compressor oil. It's a liquid. You can see, touch and taste it. It goes into the compressor and other parts and circulates with the refrigerant. Also, water doesn't leak from the condenser, it leaks from the hoses around and on the evaporator. It's the evaporator that gets cold and the ensuing moisture drips off. That's why evaporators are usually stinky and moldy because they are always wet. It's the blower motor over the evaporator that makes the whole car cold. The condenser is always dry. I know becaus I just looked at the whole things today.

Not to be mean, but you just proved to not know shit about car a/c systems. Next time, consult me before making statements. Because I will address you.

I'm not sure, but I hired an escort once and I'm pretty sure there wasn't a mechanic under the bed nor in the shower.

Really? Are you really going to complicate something I said so succinctly and just find ways to tailor it away from the main point?

You understood perfectly what I was saying, and you know it makes sense. But just for fun, if I was an escort mechanic, I'd be charging separately for:

Towing

Mobile Service

Body parts

labor

Fluids

Inspections (before fucking)

Rotations (during fucking)

Balancing (after fucking)

Final bill with taxes and condom disposal fees: $3,950.69 cents. Financing is available. And if you don't pay me, I can legally place an escort's mechanic lien on your Kia soul and sell it to the devil lol.

So next time you're asked for a measly extra $50, just be grateful escorts aren't mechanics.

Clearly you did not know enough about a/c systems to drive further back to avoid being hit by rocks from the prior vehicle.

Perhaps you should address that, Mocha.

You're a practical and patient guy. Mass transit in LA is inadequate and often difficult to use.

I live less than a mile from the Red Line station, so walking to the Red Line is no biggie.

Uber and Lyft are very reasonable if you keep in mind you're not paying to own and maintain a car. I can get to LAX in 45 minutes driving myself, and sometimes 35 minutes in an Uber or Lyft utilizing the Car Pool Lane, plus I don't have to pay to park my car and I'm dropped off at the terminal door. For roughly $30-35/trip.

Typically, when under time constraints, I'll use Uber/Lyft to get to an appointment. But coming home without a deadline, $1.75 gets me from the appointment on a Metro Bus to near Hollywood and Highland where I can transfer to the Red Line at no additional cost.

Sometimes when I rent a car for business, my local agency will allow me to drop it at LAX at no charge. They see me as removing a car they don't want in their inventory and dropping it back into the largest pool of their cars in town. Getting home from LAX is a bit annoying because the LAXFLYAWAY bus is $9.00 to downtown then I have to pay $1.75 to ride the Red Line home. So to LAX in an Uber/Lyft and getting back via the FLYAWAY costs $10.75, roundtrip, $40.75-$45.75. Parking a car at LAX runs from $30/day to $9/day. I think I've found a great deal.

OK as usual you're trying to purposely instigate crap. No I don't have to address anything but you. FY f-ing info...this was in the city, and the truck was not even in my lane. It was well ahead of me, in another lane about to go on a separate stretch of highway. The rocks tumbled from the back of the truck, and scattered across a couple lanes. I probably wasnt the only one with damages. I've had rocks hit the condenser before, but they can only take so much over time.

Obviously you don't drive enough to understand how some truck drivers can be careless and a PITA in their driving and courtesy to the average driver in terms of rocks being ricocheted from their trailers causing costly and avoidable insurance claims. I've had trucks cut me off, just barely missing my bumper, which would negate any precaution to maintain a safe distance. Exactly why a trucking insurer had to pay up several thousands a few years ago. But not going to get into that and give MORE reason to have to explain MORE shit.

If you decide not to be so condescending in future maybe I will “consult” you, but otherwise I think I will do us both a favour and ignore you.

My apologies. I shouldn't of came at you like that. It wasn't that serious. I should have just posted the diagram and remained silent and let you see for yourself, instead of addressing you in that manner.

I turned a client onto Lyft, and we used it to get between dinner a couple of times. It's definitely a cool app and the pick your car feature is nice to show up to dinner in something upscale.

Personally though for me, and just for me...I don't think it replaces having a car although many do it just fine. I kinda have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I'm not going to get too in depth, but I have reservations (phobias) about different people driving me around, though most the drivers I've had were pretty good. Plus, even though it's fun and cool to chat with the drivers, sometimes I just want to be silent and zone out to my own music. Plus I've repeatedly found stuff in Lyft cars, including some Dior sunglasses. I know I'd be one of those to leave something in the car and be fuming the next day. Not sure how reliable their lost and found is, but if it's anything like hotels, you rarely get stuff back.

I do feel by taking in part of ride share apps, taxis likely going out of business is kind of the same way escorts are being put out of business due to hookup apps. Something about partaking in an industry to the demise of another seems kind of...bandwagonishy. But at the same time, I always abhorred taxis (flagging a taxi does not work so well in Miami, as in New York) and the Lyft and Uber has put a classy touch on a usually mediocre form of transportation. So by all means...

"Have." The word is "have." As in "sometimes I have no concept of how to speak the English language."
