Well said.

I reported similar experience regarding my experience at Taboo and Luxe. No twinks in sight. And trust me I looked!

Ghost town.

The internet has taken its toll.

How long ago? My last experience in MTL was 2014, but Taboo had all types, definitely a few really cute college twinks. I'd be really sad to hear that Taboo was twink-free!

Twinks are pretty much the only thing you will find at Taboo... which is why it doesn't get much love on this message board. Are some lineups better than others? Yup. Some visits I've only found a couple hot twinks. Other visits I lost count. I've been going for most of the past decade. The ratio never changes. There will always be an exception or two, but twinks have always been their niche. My last visit was earlier this summer and they had a dozen that I'd swipe right on. Only thing is their private dance area still isn't private.

Yeah, that's been my experience -- mostly twinks -- which works just fine for me. Did you bring anyone home, or is it really just more dancing now? With those non-private rooms, I've always been unsure about how things work best there.

I guess it all depends on what your definition of a "twink" is.

For me, and what Taboo used to feature in its glory days, a twink is a skinny, cute, barely-legal, boyish, playful, teenage emo type under 21 like the talent featured on homoemo or baretwinks. Back in the day, they were featured in XY magazine and their website.

Today, I've seen many people refer to men in their 30's and college graduates as "twinks", and they're not even skinny. I laugh at some of the porn sites that refer to their talent as "twinks", when their performers are clearly in their late twenties.

So again, it really all depends on your perspective and your definition of what a "twink" is. The best place to find twinks these days are online, hornet, grindr, and while in Montreal I have had moderate success at club unity.

I have the same eyes as everyone else. Unless I have incredibly bad luck, I am confident when I say the twinks are scarce at Taboo compared to a dozen years ago.

As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

These threads are beginning to sound like a broken record between the polyanna pro-Montreal marketing promoters, and the reality of fact that twinks are visibly clearly on the decline, and have been steadily declining for years.

Don't you think I, as a twink-lover, would be the first to sing Montreal's praises if it truly featured an abundance of twinks?

With that said, it's still a beautiful city and worth checking out once or twice a year.

Ahhh, I guess we are divergent there. I do mean like a cute, skinnyish, lean but defined college to grad type, 19 - 29, depending. Perhaps I need to narrow my terminology.

Well that explains it all. We simply have different definitions of what a twink is. Each viewpoint is accurate depending on your personal viewpoint of what constitutes a twink.

As I mentioned earlier, for me a twink is a skinny, cute, barely-legal, boyish, playful, teenage emo type under 21.

Of course there were, and always have been, dancers pushing 25 at Taboo.

Believe it or not, there was a time not too long ago where 90% of the dancers at Taboo were real twinks under 21. Hence its namesake "taboo". It was notorious and would draw clientele worldwide.

Today..not so much.

I'm not at all a twink fan....far from it. One thing I know however, is that some twink aficionados add a further requirement in their description of what constitutes a "twink"......which would be that they be white.....preferably pale white. Those that seek white skinned twinks would likely not find Thailand or Brazil very attractive destinations to pursue their hobby.

A quick update on a second summer visit to Montreal:

Labor Day weekend at Stock was really good. The bar was absolutely packed Friday through to Sunday and with a really good crowd as well. It was good to see Spencer make a rare appearance on Sunday as well.

I did also spot some more new openings in The Village including a new video bar, District Video Lounge:

So hopefully The Villlage has turned a corner and arrested its decline. That said, I did also see an "A Vendre" sale outside Lux.

Can't wait to return next summer!
