Not sure why the adorable pic of your dog made me think of this story, but it did. Here goes...

My dearly departed cat Willy was a sweetie.9 lbs of fur, kind of a "'fraidy cat" around noise and sudden movement, and would make you say "awwwww" by just looking at him. Not a cat that you would consider threatening. When I moved to San Diego, Willy and his sister Hillary (another sweet puffball) and I stayed with my parents who had two cats. One was a sweet 11/12 pounder and the other a mean, dumb, 25 pound 2 foot long cat. The mean cat terrorized the nice cat to no end.

Willy and Hillary were kept in a bedroom so as not to incite a cat fight with the behemoth. Of course, they got out. Behemoth cat started to hiss at Hillary, at which point Willy rose up on his back paws, bared his claws, and smacked the mean cat right in the face. We all looked at each other (except for the mean cat - he took off and hid under the bed for the next day). My mom looked at the nice cat and said "why don't you do that?" The nice cat proceeded to groom Willy and Hillary and the three played with some toys.

On a related note, I'm heading to the shelter tomorrow to look at a couple of kittens I'm considering adopting.

Pitt bulls have an unfortunate reputation for being aggressive and some places have tried to ban them as pets. Did you get any flack from your neighbors or building management about her?

So far the biggest issue is that she sometimes strays into my neighbor's side of the yard to do her business. Other than that, she's meek as a kitten.

I've found them to be really sweet dogs. Just as loving as any other breed.

The bad reputation is due to horrible owners who didn't treat them well.
