The word "old" is only problematic if you think that being old is something to apologize for.

50 and old should never be in the same sentence. Special allowance given to teenagers though.

So you can't get past the idea that there's nothing about being old that anybody needs to apologize for.

Only in the gay community do we say people at 50 are old. Can we just say mature. Jeez.

"Mature" is just a euphemistic synonym for old anyhow. It's not really any better.

I never said anything such. We're talking about context and reality. Calling someone old can be considered an insult. I'm sure most would not be thrilled at hearing people call them that. You don't and that's great.

I am not young myself, but I like escorts who are older than me or around my age. But it is obvious that very few old escorts are still doing business. What do you think about the reason?..

I guess guys who hire are usually older men and we want an experience we usually can't get for free with young men.

(I'm aware some of yinz started hiring when you were young, and even hire in your 20's guys who were older then yinz. I'm also aware some guys who hire are young yet out of shape and hire because tthey feel ignore by other young gay men)

1. They have made enough money to retire..

Some escorts burn all their money and retire with nothing. Some are smart and save it.

2. Only a few people like old escorts so that they don't have too many clients and have to quit..

What do you mean with old?

A hot D.I.L.F. (porno style) is considered hot by men who are younger too.

3. Being an escort requires a lot of energy and stamina, which old people are not usually qualified..

I think it's all about having a healthy lifestyle when it comes to going to the gym, eating properly and NOT doing drugs

4. They have worked a long time and become fed up with escorts life, so they quit.

some love it, some hate it, some wish the do it all their lives.

I'm sorry but way too many generalizations.

fully developed physically; full-grown.

"she was now a mature woman"

synonyms: adult, grown-up, grown, fully grown, full-grown, of age, fully developed, in one's prime, middle-aged

"a mature woman"

I did say euphemistic synonym, not literal.

Definition of euphemism

  1. : the substitution of an agreeable or inoffensive expression for one that may offend or suggest something unpleasant; also : the expression so substituted

Ha. Then you do agree that it's offensive.

I agree that some people may find it offensive. I think there are better ways of avoiding offence, however. Referring to a person's actual or approximate age ("55" or "50s") is less patronising and doesn't have the same negative connotations as old.

So you consider 55" or "50s old then. PS I'm back to busting your balls btw:)

I think its actually 30, in not just the gay community but in general.

Thats why you see escorts and people on grindr putting 29 in their profiles when you know damn well that person is 35+

I think that's a judgement often made by men, irrespective of sexuality.

Really? I wish I was 30 again. That's a child.

Was that a question, or a statement? Either way, I was simply using an example. Substitute "20s" or "80s" if you prefer. The point is that by using the approximate age rather than a potentially loaded term (young, old, mature, middle aged, etc) it's possible to avoid offence without condescension.

I can't say I feel like a child. ;)

Dominiking isn't completely off base, though. There are many men who consider those over 29 to be 'too old', either in general or specifically in relation to sexual attraction.

At your age it's not so weird. When they're in their 40s+ then yes it's very weird.

Weird, but seemingly quite common. There are plenty of guys who found me very attractive when I was 20 and they were in their 40s, yet wouldn't look at me twice now I'm 30.

I think it's more a fetish. Guys don't even begin to get interesting till they hit at least 30. Anything less and your a glorified baby sitter. No offense to DK.

truth is we all age unfortunately, were all going to have to switch up, because I'm sure the same people who see me now are not going to be in 10 years as well :(

We all age, but the reality is that I'm fitter and (to my eyes) better looking than I was ten years ago. It has more to do with the worship of youth than ageing.

Can we agree that 60 is the new 40?

All kidding aside, I don't even look at the guys in their 20's, run thru the early 30's quickly, slow down for the late 30's and older.

Give me a 45 or older fox, daddy, DILF, silver fox and I'll be in heaven!

All of that being said, there are some very special guys in their 30's who are just exceptional and this ties back to another thread - it is their attitude and how they treat their clients.

I disagree! Choosing ones words is important; Some have positive connotations, some have negative connotations. In 20 years which one will you wish to embrace?

mature

[muh-too r, -tyoo r, -choo r, -chur]

1. complete in natural growth or development, as plant and animal forms:
a mature rose bush
.

2. ripe, as fruit, or fully aged, as cheese or wine.

3. fully developed in body or mind, as a person:
He was a mature man who took her responsibilities seriously.

old

[ohld]

1. far advanced in the years of one's or its life:
An old man; an old horse; an old tree.

2.of or relating to the latter part of the life or term of existence of a person or thing:

old age.

3. as if or appearing to be far advanced in years:
Worry had made him old

"Mature" is just a euphemistic synonym for old anyhow. It's not really any better.

@Guy Fawkes obviously the former. I'm not confident that those are the connotations that most people have in mind when describing a person as 'mature', which is why I asserted that people use it euphemistically. Maybe it's a cultural difference.

I am sorry. English is my second language. I didn't really know "old" was a negative word. I just wanted to express "not young", I just wanted to describe a status when a guy's already after middle-age.
