50% of American men have genital HPV infections

Half of American men (aged 18 to 59) have a genital infection of at least one strain of HPV and 1 in 4 men have at least one known strain that causes cancer. And here's the interesting part: incidence increased with age!

 

This suggests that far too many American men are having unprotected oral, anal, and vaginal sex, especially as they age. If you have sex and want to reduce your risk for anal, colon, oral, & throat cancer, please get the latest HPV vaccination. It can't protect you against a strain you're already infected with, but it can protect you against many other strains.

Gardasil, the initial HPV vaccine was developed by scientists in Australia. (As an aside, WiFi was invented by CSIRO, an Australian government science organisation, for its astronomical research. It has since won hundreds of millions of dollars in law suits for its unauthorised use.) [End diversion.]
