Happy birthday to yet another hottie from the past. Christopher Atkins turns 44 today. Wonder what he looks like now.

RE: Christopher Atkins 44 today

I remember the first time I saw him in The Blue Lagoon, damn he looked fine, that surfer blonde hair.

I guess his career was short lived, but your mention of him today makes me wonder how well he has aged. Would love to see a picture of him posted.

The last pictures I saw, he looked pretty good for a man in his 40's. And he posed nude for Greg Gorman's book "As you like it" a few years back. Looked pretty good.

Last I heard, he was traveling the country as "Bible Man", teaching children the Fundie ways.

Sorry Deej ... that's not Christopher Atkins. Willie Ames, the middle child from "Eight Is Enough" is Bibleman ... and if I'm not mistaken, he is the president of the company that produces the Bibleman videos.

>Getting it wrong a little often there, wouldn't you say?

>Maybe a vacation is in order!

Always have had trouble distinguishing between pretty blond boytoys.

And I just got back from a vacation (review coming soon), so I'll just plead exhaustion. }(

I met him about 10 years ago in Las Vegas. He was there with his wife and I think a child as a youth rep with the Jerry Lewis telethon.

He was DAZZLINGLY beautiful then and very nice. Alas, she was always at his side.

I remember The Blue Lagoon very well. Terrible flick, but who cared? You just kept your eyes on Christopher Atkins. He was one of my top fantasies.

The movie hit the screen in 1980 with Brooke Shields starring with Chris. Brooke's mother came along to chaperon and make sure Chris or anyone else didn't do anything naughty while they were filming on some gorgeous island.

Chris really looks good for someone his age. It's hard to believe that it has been over twenty five years now since he debuted in " The Blue Lagoon ". I personally really enjoyed the movie. At the time I was living in a cold climate in a Western European country. So when " The Blue Lagoon " came out on the big screen. Most of the adults at the time could only dream of living in a climate such as the one in the movie itself. Living in the cold, one can very much appreciate the heat in a big way.

It wasn't just about the tropical climate of the movie. There were the perfomers such as William Daniels who would have success in

" St Elsewhere " and the late great Leo McKern who would have huge success in Thames Television's " Rumpole Of the Bailey ". Enough about them, if I remember correctly I think Chris Atkins was one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood back in 1980. He made a few appearances in " Dallas " and his only other hit movie was in " A Night In Heaven ". Then he just simply faded away, until a few years ago when he made an appearance with Brooke Shields in " Suddenly Susan ". I hope maybe one day, he comes back and becomes a fixture on our screens once again just as he did twenty five years ago.

I believe that's Seven Minutes in Heaven - a personal favorite of mine and the first film I saw him in. I remember thinking when I saw it how remarkably good looking he was. Seems like he hasn't lost much.

It was "A Night In Heaven" in 1983. Was a pretty good movie, Christopher was nude a lot so that made it great! He's actually done a LOT more movies than we're giving him credit for here, including one currently in post-production with him as "King Sparta"?

He did a Playgirl pictorial too...somewhere around the same time as "A Night in Heaven" or thereabouts. There was a funny quote in the article (yes I read the article eventually!) from him saying something like "my mom keeps asking when I'm going to do a movie with my clothes on". :)
