San Antonio, for as large as it's become, is one of the least gay-friendly cities. It's a little sad, actually. Everything feels dumpy.

 

People make these sweeping generalizations about places without actually having been there. Case-in-point, I had a great time in the local gay scene in Dubai and Abu Dhabi when I've been there: While they still have a long way to go in terms of LEGAL equality/rights, the scene is vibrant and exists without much care from the locals.
