LOL! I had to google them, too. I'm a romantic and should have known better, but couldn't resist. The sentiment was real, even if the Gaelic was fake.

I'm afraid so. It's a completely different language. The Welsh don't seem to believe in vowels.

 

Scottish Gaelic is very closely related to Irish Gaelic, but is significantly different enough to be a distinct language. Maybe that's what you were thinking of.

There are two branches of the Celtic language family, Irish, Scots Gaelic and Manx form one, and the other consists of Welsh, Cornish and Breton. I understand from a Welsh friend that Welsh and Breton are mutually intelligible.

I've never been attracted to short men. With that being said, the man I fell in love with and married is only 5'5". I'm 6'1". We're an odd couple height wise.
