One of my sons once went to the store for butter on his bike. He put it in his backpack, then decided to take a long, scenic route home- on a 95 degree day. He got home with melted butter and a greasy backpack.

well i did put a can of pepsi in the freezer hoping for a quick cooldown.. and only remembered it when i heard an explosion in the kitchen:p

I had a roommate who did that once. (Key word: ONCE.) He was not allowed to use the freezer for any reason afterwards.

Carry 2 1/2 dozen eggs in my backpack on a bike may not be the smartest thing I’ve ever

I have never had the soda can explode, but I have neglected it long enough for the soda to turn to frozen slush.

I've resigned myself to using ice cubes.

Once I somehow spilled a half gallon of milk I just bought all over the back seat of my car...I thought I cleaned it up real well with paper towels, until a day later the milk that seeped all the way deep into the seat went rancid in the middle of the summer heat. It was one of the most horrendous smell I've ever encountered in my life...

I always hated word problems in math.

If one train leaves Penn station at 7 AM traveling at 100mph..........? Who the fuck cares?

However,

if Glennnn sucks two 6.5 inch cocks on every Monday, how many inches will he have serviced in 6 weeks? Now, that's interesting, at least to Glennnn!

And people say algebra is never useful in real life. I've actually used it more than once at work.

Then again, some people mistook me for an actuary rather than a lawyer. Thankfully, no one mistook me for an accountant even though I read a lot of income and net worth statements and once worked for an accounting firm as a consultant.

Rounding errors? Using algebra? sounds like BILLABLE HOURS! [apologies, I couldn't help myself].

No, my use of algebra at work had nothing to do with billable hours (which is a measuring tool most lawyers despise). It is, however, tough to come up with task descriptions that are both accurate and will convince a client to pay the full bill.

Rounding only came into play with problem clients. Their time would get rounded up. With everyone else, I rounded time entries down and up in as equitable a manner as I could when a quarter (or later on, a tenth) of an hour wasn't on the nose.

I hope you made up a new purchase order for that client, and marked up the cost of the eggs (even more). :)

This reminds of a senior moment I had (in my 40s alas):

I'd stopped at the grocery store on the way home from work and carefully tucked the grocery bags on the floor of the back seat so they wouldn't roll around.

I get home, scoop up my work bag as usual, and--out of sight, out of mind--leave the groceries in the back seat all night. Some of the things were ok the next day but not the frozen food. http://www.ourgtn.org/public/style_emoticons/default/doh.gif
