This is a terrific book that I'm reading write now. I occasionally am presented with the opportunity and challenge of working with guys who are in recovery from meth, so I wanted to learn as much as I can about that journey. It's incredibly difficult embracing sex and intimacy after getting off of this drug, but it is possible and this book is a great guide for both those that are seeking help and also therapist and sex-workers. I highly recommend it and would also like to open up a dialog for anyone to share their experiences with meth, either personal or friends/family.

I'll keep your book in mind!

No border wall with Mexico or the blaming of Muslims and others would solver this all-American tragedy!

How many meth labs are in your state?

When I lived in SF it was everywhere. It was great for places like Club Universe and the all night circuit parties. I was a dumb twenty something kid (I can use that as an excuse right?) who just did it as way of being accepted. As Mark said in his Meth Documentary. "I was dancing on top of the speaker box half naked and tweaked out of my mind at the club thinking this was it. I'd finally arrived." Lol

Then as it always does I saw the dark side of that life and got the hell out. Probably allot better in SF now as it's so expensive to live there. It amazes me that this drug is as popular then ever in the gay community. I get hit up to do it all the time. If I could just ignore the fact that it destroys your body and life then yeah. I could easily find myself doing it again.

I can see where it would be hard to transition from tweaked out Sex to normal sex. You've amped it up way too much. Sex at 100x the sensation and longevity. Who wants to just have normal sex anymore.

They did a great job cracking down on it at first with the restriction of Pseudoephedrine. Much to my annoyance because I need the stuff. Here in Cali the Mexican Mafia has filled this void with their Superlabs.

Here in the "Godless Northeast" the Midwestern and Appalachian mafia supply it yet the Governor of Maine keeps blaming black men for it...

Holy crap, Indiana. Why is meth so popular here in the Midwest? I tried it once out of curiosity but would never do it again. It tasted disgusting (like smoking Lysol), and coming down from the little bit I smoked was a terrible, jaw-clenching, day-long experience.

I seem to recall that one of the chemicals used to make it is also used in agriculture, so they make meth where they can easily get the raw materials. In fact, I read somewhere that it was originally brought in from Mexico by a cartel that didn't want to compete on the coasts, so they distributed in Iowa. Then the locals figured out how to make it and ran the Mexicans out. And they say that American manufacturing can't compete!

Noble work you are doing Lance. Sadly the recovery rate is dismally low, but there are success stories. I would agree that sex and intimacy once sober is a difficult road, but it is possible. I never enjoyed the same intensity once sober, but I am willing to accept that. I could write volumes, but I'm just not in that frame of mind right now. Perhaps another time, but God bless you for the work that you are doing.

It's a devastating drug, both on you physically and emotionally. From the moment Meth enters your body, it wants to kill you. It doesn't care about status, wealth, age, gender, or race. It doesn't care who you are or what you are. It's an equal opportunity drug. For years I volunteered at the Gay and Lesbian Center in Hollywood. I think at some point you just have to realize that most of the kids weren't going to make it. You hang on to them as long as you can, hoping that maybe some of it sinks in but you know in your heart that it isn't.
