I’ve noticed how many more gingers there are in the Southeast.

 

It’s the Scotch-Irish and Scottish background of most rural white men specially in Appalachia

A lot of immigrants from Scotland and Ireland settled in the south eastern United States back in the late 1700's and 1800's, thus the preponderance of gingers there:)
