Hair Cuttery - $20 + $6 tip every month.

Although there was a time when all I needed to do was to take #1.5 clippers all over my hair. Then a beard clipper to even out my sideburns and the hair on my nape.

Lately I've been going to CUT Barber in Palm Springs, co-owned by local entrepreneur Scott Cullens (pictured here with his insanely hot husband Jeremy, who often works behind the counter) and I have no plans to go anywhere else. I love the haircuts I get there ($25, by the way), the decor is stunning, and so is the eye candy. :)

I went to Supercuts for awhile, but they charge the same for a cut and blow out as other places ($35) and there's no consistency. I don't enjoy having to tell the stylist how to cut my hair.

Now I go to my previous stylist. Cut alone is $35 plus tip, but I get it cut and colored for $75 plus $15 tip every 8 weeks (or more, if I get busy or lazy). Now that we've figured out I need a layered wedge cut (shorter in back, longer in the front, looks like a bob), my hair looks consistently great.

I'll confess - $50 every 6 weeks, incl. ears, eyebrows.

What I REALLY LOVE - once a year I have my beard removed (I keep it very close and neat all the time) and then it's perfect again in 10 days.

But sitting in the chair, a hot towel covering my face, a neck, arm, and hand (oh! the hands!) massage while the barber shaves, a bit of very mild aftershave and powder and I am a new person! Eyebrows trimmed, mustache trimmed, hairline razored - all sharp as a tack! One of the best hours (of course, not THE best hour) that I spend.

Catch me that day and I'll melt your socks!
