My partner and I have been together for 5 years and it's by far the most healthy, solid and wonderful relationship I've ever been in. I believe a big part of why our relationship is so good is because we are both happy and passionate about our work (he owns a hair salon). We may get married one day, but it's not something we feel a need for. We stay together not because of a ritual or promise, but because we are happy together.
