I got a master's degree about 20 years ago. Some of my classmates surely did not deserve to pass each class and gain an M.A.

I always had significant doubts, I should have made those doubts public a year ago. My mistake, maybe others would have spoken up as well.

I know. My point was that if people can get a master's and use poor grammar, it's not that much of a stretch that someone could get a doctorate and without being able to write proper English.

I was going to let this thread die naturally, since, as all point out, the matter has been discussed ad infinitum on this forum!

 

I'm sorry to inform you, JJ, you are completely in error concerning him creating an "alter ego" since I was the one who posted in defense of my friend JD over there on BoyToy! As a human being, JD has a right to express himself on a public forum (in this case BoyToy) no matter what you may interpret his issues to be. I've been accused publicly here of being a tool, only used by JD for defending his rants, by one forum member. Another has told me in PM that JD is lucky to have as staunch a friend as myself but that I am delusional to continue to believe in the man. Yet I do still believe in him!

 

You are all welcome to judge me as you like. My final statement concerning this matter is that JD continues to be a great and wonderful friend of mine. I will continue to meet and hire JD as the excellent escort he has always been and continues to be, whenever our paths cross too, no matter how much mud gets slung at his personal and professional reputation.

My M.A is in political science is from Penn State in 1967, fifty years ago. I have far more recent experience at Penn during the last 10 school years as a student. (@maninsoma, how you read some of JD's long posts?)

Sorry TruHart1, I have a question. Does JD get permission to quote emails and PMs that are sent to him about the PS weekend and/or Daddy? Or anything else, for that matter.

 

It is something I have wondered about for a long time. I am not writing about random, one-time-only PMs/emails, but long-term back and forth. If so, JD can take a simple sentence out of context , and use it for his own benefit.

Somewhere I remember reading that he has a graduate degree in Psychology. If so, he's got even more problems than we recognize.

And, what's with all the spelling, grammar, usage, clarity, and general unreadability if he went that far with his education?

My experience with Psychology majors who actually finished the major in psychology is that 75% of them took the courses just to figure themselves out. They finished their major before they finished figuring out themselves. Masters degrees are just additional research.

I want to back up TruHart on this one, mostly to reinforce the points I already made. Before I even met JD, I heard a mouthful of really negative stuff about him from several people I trust. You could call me delusional, too, for not taking it all to heart, but I have no regrets about what I did. Part of the reason I resisted it, like TruHart still is, is that the individual we are talking about is complicated, as are we all, and he has a lot of really positive characteristics. It didn't escape my notice that really good people like TruHart not only hire JD, but do so repeatedly, and have plenty of good reasons to like him.

 

To his credit, I think JD proves that my "liberal" instincts were essentially right. As TruHart says, none of us are perfect. Without revealing information that is nobody''s business, including mine anymore, I always admired the way JD was driven to achieve, and resourceful enough to pivot away from experiences that didn't work, and to create a niche where his strengths outweigh his weaknesses. I now look back and say I put too much faith in his ability to move beyond his weaknesses, and in my ability to persuade someone to change. But speaking of flaws, I'd rather have that be my flaw than being a close-minded bigot. I still respect JD and wish him the very best.

 

I've learned a lot from this experience. I believe JD eventually will as well. And I commend TruHart for sticking up for JD and for the better part of our natures.

 

And now I really will try to shut up. It's been a relief not to have thought about this for months. I'll try to get back to that.
