Mr. Hassan, Seaboy4hire put something together for us in Chicago. Not a lot of people showed up for the lunch (assholes!) but I was really glad to meet the ones I did. You could probably talk to him about what he went thru.

Why not a late Saturday afternoon or early evening at a bar like Stonewall or GymBar....most bars are not that busy before 10pm on a Sat and people could move about and mingle.

Assume an escort rate of $300 per hour.

 

There are 12 five minute increments in one hour.

 

$300 divided by 12 = $25 rate for five minute speed date with an escort.

 

$25 is about the cost of a moderately priced meal at a decent restaurant. (The cheapskates can order from the kids menu or just have an appetizer and pay for themselves.)

 

If the speed dating concept is implemented then I suggest everyone bring plenty of cash in small denominations.

Totally agree. Went to a DC event and loved it, except once everyone settled in for lunch it was very difficult to meet those not at your table.

I love visiting NYC! Broadway, CP, The Village, Hells Kitchen, Chelsea and lets not forget 550 Rentmen! Something for everyone!

Regarding selecting a date, if it need be Autumn remember to avoid certain events. As an example the opening of the UN General Assembly is September 13 this year. For those coming from out of town hotel availability and prices can be at a premium during certain time frames. Actually most NYC hotel rates are reasonable during the summer months and often in late August just prior to Labor Day and tend to increase after that date. However, first we need to pick a date that will work for the majority and see who will be coming from a distance as opposed to making it into the City for just a day.
