Gay themed episode on Simpsons tonight

I didn't realize Smithers actually came out as being gay. Is that just this episode or has it been out for awhile? I think I recall it being out there. It's funny (and brilliant) how characters on T.V. have recently been coming out e.g. Stewie Grifffin, The Alien from American Dad and now Smithers.

Oh ok. I haven't been up to date on the Simpsons lately. It was cute tonight though, but it seemed to imply Smithers is a Top based on the stereotypes of fem men lol

I also stopped watching the Simpsons years ago. Smithers came out a long time ago. I understand one of Marge's twin sisters also did.

Smithers came out officially this season, though his longing for Mr. Burns has been hinted at for a long time.
