So I have a question for you circuit party boys.

I was in New Orleans for H'ween and noticed a lot of "circuit"types in the bars. Many of them were beautiful,in a bland cloneish way,and most were acting like they were under the influence of ecstasy.

Now I am NOT being judgemental here, your own bigguy was quite fond of MDA back when it was pharmacitical quality-but have not done it in years.

What is with the "petting"?Not real sex just lots and lots of rubbing and stroking(literally like petting a cat)?I was witness to this in many places, and subjected to it a couple of times!I have a cat at home-I want to suck dick!

Sorry I missed so many Hoovillians-I was stuck playing tour guide to a child of seven and a child of 28.

Will return to NOLA on a weekend that does not involve a circuit party!

Pet Shop Boys

It is a combination of drugs which make it difficult to get or maintain an erection with drugs that make tactile and physical sensory contact a part of the experience. Also, frankly, in my opinion, younger men (gay or straight) are becoming far more comfortable with simply physical contact, which might be slightly sexual on the surface or appear that way, when no physical arousal exists or is desired.

Circuit boys, in my experiences, have been vapid & plastic people who've done little to keep my attention past 'Hey, what's up.'

I'm sure the vast majority i've met have been under the influence of some illegal drug as well. That's probably been the kicker in my dislike for that whole sub-gay-culture of people. Drugs have never been a part of my 'having fun,' so i always wonder why others feel the need to get messed up to find amusement in a situation.

Eh. *shrugs* One man's trash i guess...

Granted, i do enjoy dancing and a good DJ who's spinning an energetic mix of music. I usually just tend to ignore the stereotypical 'circuit boys' who are messed up and somehow finding the meaning of life on someone else's bodyglitter.

Warmest Always,

Drugs are a big problem in the "party" culture but there are plenty of people, particulary plenty of gay men, who would never be viewed as stereotypical circuit party boys, who do drugs. There are also plenty of people who simply do drugs around the circuit party culture, who actually never go to the events, but simply travel to the cities, do the drugs, engage in the sex and show off.

On the other hand, some of the guys are pretty intelligent, witty and, most importantly, sober people. Some of them are even republicans. I worked on a few circuit parties that were volunteer run and where the proceeds benefited groups in the community. There are a large number of people who attended, at least these events, who neither fit the stereotypes or were on drugs. Now, maybe they knew too much about dance music than politics, but thats just a matter of taste.
