President Jimmy Carter is well known for his global philanthropic works, his tremendous contributions towards peace, and his keen intellect. Below is a link to an essay he just wrote on how to curb prostitution, that purchasing sex acts should be a "serious crime" and the men who do the purchasing be treated as such.

It would be informative and helpful to hear escorts opinions on Jimmy Carters strongly worded essay. Carters voice and influence may be strong and far reaching, but perhaps your voices can be even stronger. Escorts, please provide cogent, robust, and sincere arguments, opposing or supporting Carters essay. Perhaps your voices will be heard far and wide, with an impact one couldn't have anticipated. Truly you have a distinct perspective that is sorely needed. Your sage wisdom and experience is requested.

Clients, let's leave ourselves out of this discussion, or at least start a different thread from this one with our voices placed there, not here. It's not that our opinion has less value, but we could be accused of bias, and at the very least, drown out the escorts voices and their impact.

Love to all.

Josh

I don't have to write an essay when I read:

Normalizing the act of buying sex also debases men by assuming that they are entitled to access women’s bodies for sexual gratification. If paying for sex is normalized, then every young boy will learn that women and girls are commodities to be bought and sold.

This article seems to be more about male power over women, rather than actual prostitution. Because if you ask me, young boys and girls learn the roles of women and men FAR more earlier than they'd even know what prosititution is. It's in songs, it's in movies, it's in their very own household. Why the are people so worried about the kids, when their very own parents aren't teaching them from the get go? Parents are cursing at kids, having miscellaneous relationships around kids, even worse stuff around kids. Believe me, they aren't learning it from us.

That said, FORMER president Jimmy Carter wasn't in office during any part of my 28 years of life so I could care all equal or lesser than fuck. You or any man hiring gay male escorts also shouldn't give a fuck, because Jimmy Carters statements are neither for or against the protections of male prostitution.

That said, America sucks...I'm ready to go someplace more liberal, less judgemental. I'm sick of this shit.

I liked his essay, he makes a lot of good points. But the power dynamic he describes is to m4m escorting as apples are to broccolli. It is true that in many many countries women and young girls are outright kidnapped, coerced, or sold by their (amoral) poverty-stricken families to sex-slavers. It's a very real human rights issue that is rarely addressed, so kudos to Carter for bringing it to light. There needs to be an international consensus on this issue, and there is none. In too many countries women have no rights and no autonomy. But its a prostitution model that (thankfully) bares little relation to the usual dynamic we are all acquainted with discussing on this forum. I'd be curious if Carter has any knowledge or opinions of THIS little world:)
