Just saw a tumblr post showing a porn performer's real name. From an account apparently dedicated to exposing the real names of porn stars.

 

Not sure why it pisses me off so much. Just annoying as all fuck.

It pisses me off, too. It's motivated by a need to defend one's personal morality and assert certain values, and defense is only needed when there is a perceived attack. It pisses me off that someone feels attacked by sex and then acts out in this manner.

I'm with both of you, it's an illustration of a toxic contempt for the perceived immorality of certain career choices that leads some people to demonise and vilify people who have made those choices. Worse, it seems that an ordinary Joe who has done some porn work is beneath contempt to these people but an 'upright' congressman who fucks a twink in an airport toilet gets a free pass.

I'm not sure there's a "superior morals" thing here--the blog includes some porn pics.

 

I think it's just catty, power-tripping gay dude(s) outing porn performers.

I've known guys like that. I had a friend who worked for one of the cam sites, and they'd always be condescending to him - and they were the guys with the biggest porn collections.
