There once was a guy named Bruce.

Whose gender ID was loose.

One day he's a he.

Next day she's a she.

Maybe someday he'll finally... choose.

If 'she' goes back to being 'he', will she/he have to give back the Woman of The Year Award?

you'll see it on Ebay, or the Kardashian museum. LOL

Dame Kockwoods Theory:

Bruce Jenner was a strictly hetero guy that enjoyed CROSSDRESSING. It was his secret and as a public figure with multi-million dollar endorsements, he couldnt indulge his passion for womens dressup and be seen in public. So he remained closeted and tormented until he figured out a way to be able to dress up and go public. At this juncture I do NOT believe he ever had breast implants. Any male with some pectoral tissue, a tight corset and an underwire bra, some strategic highlighting and contouring, can "create" the illusion of female breasts. Drag queens do it all the time. And thereby the idea of Caitlyn was born, giving Bruce the freedom to dressup and be seen in public, profit financially from a reality show about transitioning, public speaking apperances, and become the poster child for the Trans community. Very elaborate plan, and i do believe Kris Jenner knew all about it AND was in on it too.... The one thing Caitlyn couldnt alter was her "brain", and her views on same sex marriage and the Gay community. Here is where it all starts to fall apart... Once she starts being hated instead of loved for her viewpoints, what else to do but to go back to being str8 Bruce, and fucking women. And now that its known that he like to dress as a woman, that wouldnt be any surprise to anyone that may see him publicly as such. He'll just be a cross dresser. Pretty common stuff....

If what you say above is correct, this is my theory too: that Caitlyn is a cross-dresser, not trans. That would also explain the insistence on heterosexuality.

But I don't share or understand the judgment and vitriol. If there wasn't some issue about gender identity, why even get into it knowing how ignorant people are about trans issues? That's like arguing that gay men are only in it for the attention.

Whatever is the case here, I am kind of appalled at the idea that a rich trans person can't be Republican or conservative. We're all free to be as wrong and ignorant about politics as we want to. To use that as a basis for rebutting someone's self-identification is the opposite of tolerance.

The trans woman whose memorial service I attended in February passed even less well than Caitlyn, but everyone there (at a United Methodist church, no less) got the pronouns right. If I could ask her what she thought about Caitlyn, I am 100% sure she would advocate a fuckload more tolerance and compassion than is being shown here.

And while I would never be so crass as to ask, I doubt my friend had sex reassignment surgery considering she came out and transitioned due to a cancer diagnosis. (Pretty sure she had her jawline shaved. Not sure whether she had top surgery or just relied on the effects of estrogen.) That doesn't mean her gender identity was any less female. Also the surgery is not only expensive but doesn't always work out - especially true for ftm - and it doesn't improve psychological outcomes.

Rest in peace, Angela.

If the desire to revert is genuine, I have great sympathy for him/her. It appears to be a psychological train wreck. :(

Last time I checked, ambivalence and self-doubt were not crimes; therefore, I now try to treat Cait's situation with a bit more kindness and less harshness. The way I process Bruce's struggle is that he had the means but not the self-compass/self-restraint nor the right guidance. Amplify that with media scrutiny, the lure of the publicity & money, and you have a recipe for disaster. Keep in mind that as Cait, she still thinking like Bruce - they didn't reassign her brain nor her life experience!

I initially started watching her show for the novelty and to judge Cait (shame on me). Today, I reflect on the moments of wisdom her supporting cast (particularly Jenny Boylan, Chandi Moore, Kate Bornstein) have brought to the show. To me, Jenny, Chandi, and Kate are the stars, and despite how much I disagree with Cait and her approach to this transition, I'm glad she is around to bring attention to these 3 diverse MTF voices that would not have been given as wide a platform.

I'm on team hold out on judgment/pause on harshness...direct all that to Drumpf ;)

Not watching the show myself, but co-signed 1000%.

I couldn't agree more! I also watched the show, well, the first season anyway, couldn't bring myself to watch the second season because ultimately her ignorance and self-bolstering got to me. I cringed everytime she would say something like "I just want people to treat me like a normal woman". I wanted to shake her and scream, YOU AREN'T NORMAL, AND YOU NEVER WILL BE, and that's a wonderful thing. Why strive for normalcy? I think she thought that all her money could make her pass effortlessly and she's having a tough time with the criticism, after all she is a Jenner/Kardashian. I don't believe she is just a cross-dresser calling herself trans, I think she's just realizing that the transition doesn't automatically fix all of the emotional shit she still needs to work through.

Right on! And some of us will be bothered by her ignorance, ambivalence, self-doubt. Others will become intrigued and will want to learn more. I'm in the last camp. Lance, I do encourage you to bear & grin thru some of the episodes of season 2 ...yes, there are shenanigans (it is entertainment afterall), but there are some really insightful moments - particularly by the women I mentioned above. I guess I would say to any viewer: watch it with a glass half-full attitude. Easy for me to say, my glass is usually full with wine <hiccup> o_O

This reminded me of the Bob Paris/Rod Jackson thing.

I remember an article from that time that referred to them as "free-lance role models." That gave me a bit of a chuckle.

I was somewhat acquainted with Rod. He was an instructor at a gay gym in Denver, where I was a member. At the time, I was a production assistant for a company that produced industrial videos. Occasionally, I scouted talent for this production or that. We needed some good-looking hunks to demo a new line of exercise equipment, and Rod was one of the guys I got. I think he and Bob met shortly thereafter when Bob led a bodybuilding seminar at the gym.
