One of those trying to clear away the snow may have been my great-grandfather. He was one of the 69th Regiment National Guard members activated to try to clear the streets during the blizzard. He contracted pneumonia and died as a result.

Liza's mother sang "Give My Regards to Broadway" in her final scheduled  concerts in New York City during Christmas week in 1967 at Felt Forum, part of Madison Square Garden. She also sang "The Battle Hymn of the Republican" with her younger kids.

I can always picture Ethel Merman when I hear mention of "Give my Regards to Broadway" but Judy Garland sang it also as you say.
