I don't think it is the beginning of a trend. It's just a matter of different people marketing their product different ways.

 

Some businessmen open a MacDonald's, some open a fine dinning place. Neither is better than the other, and both have potential to make a lot of money, it just comes down to understanding your product, being fully aware of your strengths and weaknesses and learning to appeal to the demographic that will be best suited to your business plan.

 

A 15 minute escort will not appeal to customers looking for an intensely personalized experience. Maybe a woman might have enough turn over to make this profitable in the end. An escort specialized in longer sessions will not appeal to the thrift hunter.

If you have no plans to engage in hiring an escort for fifteen minutes, why such umbrage about it? How does it hurt you? The one aspect of this that I would like is that it would allow me to minimize my risk when meeting someone for the very first time. I could not personally see it as a viable on-going relationship... Upon deep thought, if we are truly paying for time only, it should not matter what increment someone else would want to break that down into as long as both parties are up for it.

To each their own! If this is a marketing/pricing strategy that works for her, all the more power. I personally couldn't imagine scheduling someone for 15 minutes, simply too rushed, however I could see a half hour being enough time for some clients, though it's not gonna cause me to start offering that option.
