Obviously that's no guarantee that the escort is actually available the moment you call, but it's at least an indication that he regularly makes himself available at all hours of the day.

I've never come up with a good way to find escorts who are honestly available for late nights or "available now." All of the suggestions have built-in problems.

 

I miss the days before cell phones and widespread voice mail when guys actually answered the phone. So many escorts use voice mail to screen their calls day or night. If an escort has turned in for the night and turned off his phone you have no idea whether you're leaving a message for someone who will call back in ten minutes or several hours. You end up calling your top three or four choices (in a good city) and hoping one will call back. I've had nights where I left messages for five guys then waited all night for nothing. Other nights I had to let the phone ring and ring from other escorts while the first guy who called back was fucking me. With my luck my first choice was the one who called back last.

 

On Men4RentNow the "available now" feature is based on the grid of days and hours displayed in the lower right of every escort profile. A lot of guys check all the boxes even though they have no intention of taking a 2:00 AM call. So you call these guys and they call back at 10:00 AM.

 

Many guys in the AOL chat rooms are using it like an active advertisement. They're not in front of the computer waiting to chat with prospects -- they're dropping into the local M4M chat room so that you'll see their information in the profile and away message. Put a few escorts in your Buddylist and you'll see that some escorts are logged in 24x7 in "nycm4mnow", while they go out and party, work their day jobs, etc. For years there have been third-party tools to keep AOL users in chat, and to re-logon and re-enter a room if they get kicked offline. The away message feature was a third-party add-on to AOL for years before AOL made it a built-in feature. It's not just an escort problem either. Most of the chat rooms are choked with guys who went online just so that other guys can e-mail hook-up messages and pics. These guys walk away or turn off IM's and collect messages later.

 

If I'm ready for an escort now now now, late night or not, I usually place a call to my first choice and leave a message saying how late I'll be up. I give him a about an hour, then I start leaving messages for two or three more guys.

This is a good topic. I'm somewhat like you are in that it's hard for me to plan when I want to be horny. I had a regular escort about a year ago. I asked him about short notice appointments. He informed me that with regular clients he had no problem as a relationship was already in place. So once or twice a month I would ive him a call and if he had no other appointments would come by usually within an hour.

Others have already commented on the reality of the "available now" option on Men 4 Rent Now as well as the habit of escorts parking themselves in chat rooms. On the few occassions when I ran a newsprint ad, usually while traveling, I have never listed myself as available 24/7, but I know many other escorts who do simply to maximize likely calls. They are neither available nor physically could be expected to be.

I always liked to return my calls, even those which arrive in the middle of the night after I went to bed. Obviously, the client wanted something around the time they called, not when I dialed them back. However, I think it is the professional thing to do.

 

Additionally, with those clients with whom I have an established relationship, I have often told them that if they know they are going out clubing (one of my regulars does this about once a month or so) and might want to call me, to let me know earlier that day and I will keep the phone by my bed side. They also understand I do not always answer, but it keeps the option open. A few clients who do not abuse the privilege have my actual home phone.

 

Ideally, you are going to get what you want when you need it and desire it, but a sensible client probably anticipates that some planning, even if it is only a short notice, is likely to be more beneficial than simply cold calling everyone you can.
