Guys. There no free lunch when it comes to the airline BIZZ

I can a round trip from Carolina to Hawaii for $700. Non refundable or $1200 change fee applies

While being nice and asking for help from the airline may help - it won't be as effective as in years past

Not unless you are nice AND have Platinum-executive-super-duper-I-poop-gold frequent flier status like some people in this thread. :)

Sorry funguy, I fall into the camp of people who don't believe everything I read on the internet.

In order for me to believe that there is a travel insurance policy that reimburses the full cost of a plane ticket when the reason for the missed flight is "just don't feel like going today," I would need a company name, a policy to read, the price of the policy, and a conversation with a policy holder who actually filed a claim and received full compensation for the "just don't feel like going today" submission.

Like I said, my group has a lot of experience actually reading fine print and researching travel insurance policies and reputations. My business works with some of the leading corporate travel agents in the industry. A simple Google search of "travel insurance, flight cost reimbursement for any reason" will yield pages and pages saying it doesn't exist.

IMO, it is much less expensive and hassle to fly to your escort of choice than it is to find and rely on an insurance policy that covers a flaky, unprofessional sex worker.

I would issue an insurance policy to anyone that wanted coverage for "just don't feel like going today" or any other reason. The premium would be the cost of the plane ticket (policy amount) plus 10%. Premium would need to be paid by bank check or in cash. Anyone interested?

Sorry rogerG - I don't happen to have a copy at this time - it has been a while but I do know that my agent got the airline tickets, etc.thru a wholesaler with the insurance as well. There are some time constraints re: time of ticket purchase vs. time of insurance purchase but ultimately there need not have been any particular reason to cancel. Otherwise, most policies you can get away with illness and get an MD note.

Of interest, travel to Zika virus areas is now no longer a valid reason for cancellation because it is now a known complication. Prior to widespread publicity it could be used as an excuse to cancel.

So I just got home and so much to update.

1. I finally got a sincere apology from the escort who left me hanging. It was nice to get. I didn't immediately react. I really thought about things. About two days later I responded. I basically thanked him for finally acknowledging that I matter, that I would forgive him, but that I would not forget how he treated me. I then wished him well. We are done. Slowly I am deleting photographs and other memories.

2. This whole ordeal gave me strength to cut the thief loose too without comment or a goodbye. I simply deleted his contact information.

3. I met up with a new and un-reviewed but discussed guy who proceeded to give me the best escorting experience of my lifetime. I really didn't know it was possible to have so much fun doing this, I had become so hardened and jaded over the years. This skeptic is a fresh new believer in the power of escort therapy. From the ashes of what seemed to be a shattered weekend rose an exciting phoenix whom I hope to share a lot of fun adventures in the future with.

My response will be underwhelming compared to your post. But I'm glad you had a great time (and have a newfound joy in meeting guys)!!

PS Did you hit the trifecta of having your team win the Super Bowl?

Glad to hear that you got that breath of fresh air at the end of a very trying experience. Talk about a light at the end of the tunnel!

I hope you plan on doing a review on the Vegas guy. Having a review would probably help him since the Vegas guys tend to have a hit-and-miss reputation. (Or maybe that's just my own impression. :) )

You handled it with the escort in a classy and perfect way, imho. That you found a guy who more than satisfied your needs certainly helped to give you the strength to say goodbye. Sometimes the most difficult part of meeting with a regular escort is to know when to say goodbye. We may know it intellectually but emotionally it isn't often that obvious. Sometimes these things can be a blessing in disguise, as it was in your case. Ultimately, at a small cost, you ended up with a very positive experience.

Two thumbs up D2B. It's interesting how doing something as simple as deleting contact information, can be so liberating. I've done that a time or two, and it always gives me some closure. Glad to hear that you are moving on...

A sincere apology is timely. This was not.

I lost $20 on the game, but the party was pretty good!

There are some classy Vegas guys, but to be fair, this is a good guy from Oregon.

I think what's most important here is that you took care of yourself and also got your needs met. Also it's important that the escort learned a lesson and won't repeat the behavior.

A reminder from FBI for Valentines Day:

February 13, 2016

Lauren Walker

Posted with permission from Newsweek

The FBI is using Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to remind all of the “lonely and vulnerable” online daters out there that criminals are lurking on their favorite dating websites.

“Here’s how the scam usually works,” an FBI press release posted on Thursday reads. First, you’re contacted by someone who appears interested in you. Then, you might chat back and forth over the course of a few weeks or months, forming a connection. “But ultimately, it’s going to happen,” the FBI warns. “Your new-found ‘friend’ is going to ask you for money.” And if you comply, the friend will inevitably ask for more.
