Offical Daddys meet up Memorial day weekend, Chicago

I wanna be there if it happens.

Token straight girl does live 300 miles away from Chi-town and thus would NOT be the best choice to help plan, however.

July 2014's meetup was a blast. Such wonderful people. I would love to see a Chicago event become an annual tradition.

One possible concern: the Palm Springs shindig will be at the VERY end of April this year. Would the short time frame between the two events dissuade some from going?

It's usually held during IML weekend I'm not sure if kne was held last year since I was taking a break from the forum.

If I remember correctly, there hadn't been a Chicago meetup for several years before the one in July of 2014. I do think the previous one was held over the IML/Grabby's weekend, though.

Technically, it's IML and the Grabbies.

 

Ironically, Chicago was the first Hooboy weekend and the one that hasn't "stuck" as a repeating event.

 

All it needs is a local organizer who will build it. They will come.

I may be biased but Chicago Memorial day weekend is the place to be with everything going on. And well just in general, Chicago fucking rocks! Lol

I have a place in Lakeview, a block off of the Halsted street gay strip, with a dining room for 24 people....it could either be a catered in thing if there are enough people or a low key pizza and beer evening.

I would be interested in attending a Chicago event. Since that would coincide with IML it would be nice if a firm decision about hosting could be made soon so that attendees can make hotel reservations.

Hey Guys,

 

Keep me posted if a Chicago event happens as I would like to attend as well being this would be the first time of me attending at an event in Chicago.

 

Plus, I never been to IML before, so attending Chicago event, and the Palm Springs event all in the same month would be kinda neat to do.

 

Knowing how successful the DC event turned out, I'd be more than happy to help in anyway I can if need be.

 

Actually come to think of it, it would be cool if maybe(just a thought) if Brian and Greg teamed up and hosted this event together or it could be like others here mentioned on the forum of being a member from the local area hosting the event.

 

In some cases from what I've experienced, you don't need to be of a local resident to be of a host for a Daddy's Event. Knowing from the DC event, I helped organize that event, and wasn't a DC resident.

 

The main host(Evan Skyy) lived in DC, so that's what made things a bit easier as far as knowledge of the area goes, and also for tourists issues.

 

Maybe it can be done like how me and Evan did it is one organizer can be from out of town, and the other organizer can be a local resident.

 

It's worth a shot as there's nothing wrong with having more than one organizer help make a Daddy's event a success.

 

It's better that 2 or more collaborators organizing a Daddy's event is better than just one person setting everything up with an event on his own as it can a lot of work for one person to handle.

I have two restaurants in mind, Nookies in the Edgewater neighborhood and Honey Butter Fried Chicken in the Avondale neighborhood. Both offer up really good foods.
