Like Greg, I'm also a light skinned Latino, and in my case, my dick is a few shades lighter than some of the Caucasian guys I've been with. My dick is also a couple of shades darker than the rest of my own skin color. Interestingly, I never thought about the color of my skin vs sexual opportunity until I started coming of age and pursuing men. I ran into the type who craves darker toned Latinos. I was not emotionally mature and their preference really messed with my head. I actually started going to tanning salons to get that "desired" brown tone that I thought I needed to fulfill the fantasies/desires of my sex partners. After years of knocking my head against a color wall, I came to my senses: I can't control preferences, but I can certainly control my reactions to such. Today, I find that being comfortable in my own skin - including its color- is indeed the biggest sexual attractiveness magnet I possess.

s this normal to prefer a dick color... or am I strange?

I am a huge proponent of political correctness. I view it as an excellent vehicle for instilling civility into our speech and actions, however, I do not believe it was ever intended to imprison our personal tastes.

If white dicks are your preference, go for as many as you want as often as you want (con-sensually, of course). :)

Where's @AdamSmith when you need an image of a bunch of white bananas?

I would say that I would prefer white men because they have what I consider to be cute faces, but there are exceptions like JD Daniels who is mostly African-American has a racially mixed background and has inherited the best genes from all his ancestors.

I am a big opponent of political correctness as I think it stifles free speech by putting a muzzle on speech that someone, somewhere might find offensive. I would rather know what someone really thinks that have them silenced by a self appointed arbiter of what is or isn't appropriate. Right now in the US, political correctness has run amuck. I actually think it was meant to imprison our personal tastes because someone might be offended by them.

I agree with you on the current state of political correctness. I do, however, see Sync's well-articulated point that the original intent was to better inform & create civility in our word-choices. Language can be both an instrument of love and war. To me, however, language's impact pales in comparison to the power of delivery and interpretation.

The civility with which you have presented your opposing point of view suggests otherwise. :)

Fuck you, you faggot prick homo slut....

Actually the issue is that I was taught civility by my parents and my community based on the values we all share. I was not shamed by an ideology based on censoring all speech which someone somewhere might find offensive. Any speech which someone may decide is racist or sexist (regardless of context or intent) for example is now considered politically incorrect. This has been promoted by politicians for their own political gain and is insane.

My full name...why so formal? :p

I agree, political correctness has been hijacked, promoted (and exploited) by politicians for their own political gain, but they do that with anything and everything, including the Bible. I do not believe that political correctness should ever be a censoring device, but perhaps a word-choice option tool used to entice people to continue to listen/read, rather than recoil and/or dismiss.

We'll see.

Skin color isn't a thing for me, but everyone has their things. You're not the first to have a preference.

I appreciate and agree (to a point) with your comment, Mr Decatur Guy. Thank you.

but when I end up seeing their oh so yummy

dick it has been very dark skinned, and that has been a turn off for me.

However, the OP's comment sounds (sexually) racist.

I have thought long and hard about this over the many years and have come to the conclusion sexual racism not only truly exists and is a subcompartment of racism, but is present far more than most wish to believe.

A (vast) majority of gay men would insist that their sexual attraction to men is inborn and not a choice or preference. We gay men report that we cannot be sexually attracted to women and it's not a preference (I speak to the gay men who are 100% gay. I am fully aware of bisexuality and the gender attraction spectrum). Sexual attraction, or mis-attraction, where darker skin is a turn off is the result of a society where white skin is prized and dark skin penalized. There is simply a huge difference between "preference" and being "turned off" by dark skin. Preference is "I prefer thick crust pizza over thin crust pizza, but I still like pizza of any type ". That is very different than "I dont eat thin crust pizza, it's yucky".

The society to which we are born shapes, influences, guides, and even (to a degree) governs who we see visually in the media, in our teachers, our politicians etc. A society where darker skinned humans are seen significantly less than their lighter-skinned Caucasian counterparts creates a society where light skin is first prized, than sexualized, to the (far too often) exclusion of dark skin. This is learned behavior, not in-born like sexual orientation. Yes, it becomes a preference, but most likely one whose foundation has its roots in a society where Caucasian light skin is prized and dark skin is penalized.

We have not only past but current history to support this. Below is a link to a CNN news story 2 days ago regarding a beauty aide to help people have lighter skin. It created quite the controversy, as it should have. But it's presence was noteworthy and tragic. I present it for its application but there are many other appropriate examples.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/08/asia/thai-racist-white-beauty-ad/

By first recognizing ones inherent racism, one can then challenge it's faulty premise and evolve. I simply see no evidence that (most) people's racial "preference" is a genetic event but rather learned behavior.

To the OP: I applaud your posted honesty and courage in asking your question:

Is this normal to prefer a dick color... or am I strange?

It's such an important conversation in society that a vast majority of people, especially Caucasian light skinned people do not think out loud, let alone internally. The conversations absence is harmful to society. I would say to your question, no, its not ... normal ... but it is (unfortunately) more typical than not.

Challenge yourself to move beyond what you have been taught.

Question your racial assumptions.

Strive to find the the beauty in everyone.

Your world, and the world around you, will only be enhanced.

Your post, while well- written and well-intended, lacks empathy. If you want to encourage self-reflection or change, you have to, first and foremost, understand and feel for your target audience. The overwhelming majority of the posts out here are not written with the intent to elicit a book-like lecture, but they are actually written with the intent to find a sense of belonging. Am I the only one? Who else here...? I do this, do you...? Been considering X, anyone else try it...?

My experience so far with forum members is that they are highly intelligent, savvy, and rightfully opinionated. IMHO, added value comes thru personal experience and vulnerability, as the OP did. The only respectful way to respond to that level of vulnerability is to be vulnerable yourself. So....Let me challenge you back: read your post and find a way to use yourself (your personal experience, not books or documentaries) as an instrument for the change you'd like to see - instead of challenging others with theory.

white banana

A white penis, or a misheard lyric from Foxx's "Wipe Me Down." You decide.

Drunk Guy: Hey ladies!

Ladies: Fuck off, asshole... white banana! WHITE BANANA!!!

white banana

1. substitute for "whatever,"

2. exclamatory statement of surprise

3. replacement for an expletive

4. substitute for sexual-related activity

1. "I missed the bus! white banana, I'll just walk."

2. "you're getting married--white banana!"

3. "what the white banana is going on in here!"

4. "yeah, i heard they were doing the white banana all night"
