Please, if you must sneeze or cough do NOT do it into your hands! Your costing service works money when we have to call in sick because you were rude and coughed or sneezed into your hands and then hand us your form of payment. If you must cough or sneeze do it into your arm. If I encounter one more person using their hands I am taking a ruler to their knuckles!

Well, not quite. Any mucus or saliva that transfers from the hankie (or kleenex) to your hand still carries virus and bacteria. People should do what I do when sick: STAY THE HELL HOME UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

Imagine what it's like for health care providers such as myself, who has to see kids that actually cough or sneeze in my face. Why parents bring kids with colds to see the doctor is something I don't understand (unless the kid has asthma, or some other health condition).

My Dad carries handkerchiefs. I always thought stuffing nasal drippings back into your pocket as being gross.

You are safe. I still keep always a handkerchief in my pant back left pocket. However since I moved bed to USA I adopted Kleenex and only use my old nasty tool to dry my forehead when it is hot.

I do this during cold and flu season. It's been ages since I've had the flu (no flu shots for me thanks) and I rarely catch a cold.

I did that one winter when I was a checker at a grocery store. OMG! The finger tips of the gloves were so filthy from the random dust and me handling cash. It really was gross!
