Shaved Head

Anyone out there shave thier heads? Saw a dude shaving in the showers at the gym and was just wondering how often you need to shave?

 

Curious minds want to know.

I don't but a friend does. He says he does it every three days. He's half African-American, with the associated hair texture...not sure if that makes a difference in the frequency required or not.

With regards to African American and the associated hair texture:

Typically the root of the hair follicle is also curled so length takes a while longer to show up with new hair growth. So a shaved head will tend to take more time to fully grow in.

 

That said, I only shave my head once every week and half or so .... mostly because I'm not incredibly grooming conscious and I like how my hair looks with some hair grown in. I'm not as ford of the shiny bald look which would require re-shaving in similar increments as said above...about ever 2 or 3 days.

Depends on the look you want... if you want it smooth, the every three or four days is about right, which is as often as I shave mine. I'd add to be sure to use a new razor EVERY time -- it's easy to scrape your head if the blade is too blunt, and then you're stuck with a scab for at least a week!

I have a few different looks, shaved head being one of them. I sometimes shave everyday. I usually shave every three to five days. I love buzzed hair and the way it grows back in. If I haven't shaved in awhile, I always use buzzers to trim the hair down. Otherwise it's a difficult process.

 

But once my head is shaved, it takes less than five minutes a day to re-shave it and it is easier to do than my face.

 

It's a sexy look and I'm glad more and more men are doing it.

I totally agree a shaved head is a sexy look;it really turns my crank! Funny, tho, I don't like the look on myself altho the closest I got was a buzzed haircut a year ago, which I didn't like, so I went back to very short (I know but to me it made a difference!). The other day I was waiting for a haircut and the guy in the chair was getting his head shaved. I watched and the transformation was incredible; he went from being merely interesting to totally sexy in 10 minutes! (I fantasized caressing that beautiful head!!) Barbers do have their perks!
