Sorry, I didn't join the dots there. I'm no follower of Oscar wins.

I didn't mention it originally because I didn't want to spend the time confirming that the Oscar was for Norma Rae, but when you mentioned it, I went ahead and checked.

No harm, no foul.

Drunk Sally Field. (You may be too young to get the reference, but when she won (her first, I believe) Oscar, she blurted out, "You like me! You really like me!")

Yes, Sally, we liked you all along, even when you were playing silly TV roles like the Singing Nun.

You mean the Flying Nun - sister Bertrille.

The Singing Nun is a relic of the early 60's, when Peter, Paul and Mary, and their ilk, were hot. Many of our forum members, if they were even alive then, were probably small children too young to pay much attention to popular music. Fortunately or unfortunately, I remember the period very clearly.

Yup, got them confused. I remember both of them.

I think you're underestimating the age of your fellow forum members. I think the clients that comment skew older than you think.

I know there are a few oldies, but my impression is that most of them are late 40's to late-50's.

My earliest memory of popular music is a song called, "The Purple People Eater" which was briefly popular in the summer of 1958, when I would have been 6 years old.

You know when I see something that says do not click, or do not press, or a big red button that says do not touch.. you know the temptation to oops press goes sky high:p

It was her second Oscar (for Places in the Heart). The context being that she didn't feel the respect of her peers after the first win but now did.

And god I loved her as Sister Bertille. Then Sybil. Then in Smokey and the Bandit.

That would never have occurred to me.

They're not advertising. Ask anybody that has to respond to a negative review. I'll leave the rest as an exercise for the students.

I don't get the contrast you're making between using the site for free advertising and honesty. Aren't honest reviews both free advertising and honest?

I am flattered not to be classified with the oldies (like yourself, I guess). I'm still (just barely) in my late 50s. But I know about the Purple People Eater, not so much as a song but as a concept.

Thanks for the correction.

Congrats, BK! I got my first review a couple weeks ago, and know how excited you must feel about it, as well as getting coverboy! Well done! :p

XO,

I'd very happily share my spot light with you O:) I am by no means selfish. I got called a flirt the other day, and I must admit, that trait is shining right now.

That's right!! I guess then both of us deserve a swift kick in the balls from Mr. Kevin as payback seeing we failed to mention he is this weekends "Coverboy". Lol. :p:p.

I pray he'll have mercy to forgive us, Boomer.:p. You get first dibs in the first kick. Maybe he'll be generous enough to give you a light kick first, and then me receiving the most painful one.

OUCH!!!!!!FUCK!!!!!!! Boy, did that hurt. ;);)

I would never kick anyone :)

More diplomatic would have been to say "outliers." Yes, I think I am a bit older than the average forum participant, and. therefore, an outlier. Fortunately I don't think that being of a certain age is anything I need to conceal or apologize for.

True, but you used the term and disclosed your birthyear/age.

Agreed on the last sentence. Why fret about something we have no control over anyway? Have all the fun, including sexy fun, one wants to. Outside of medical conditions, age is not a limiting factor.
